install the actual pins on the radiator support frame..
put grease, chewing gum, clay or anything sticky you can find on the tip of the pin (ink could do too i guess)
lower the hood gently and let it rest on the pins
now lift the hood up and you should have your marks made for the drill spots.

start with a small drill bit and file your way up
drill one through the bottom layer of fiberglass only
remember that you will have the hood pin plate cover up the hole anyway so don't worry about screwing up much here.. just make sure you drill in the right spot, the right size and the right angle, and file the hole till it's about 1mm wider than the pin.

as for the drilling angle, keep in mind NOT to hold the drill at a 90 degree angle from the hood.

just imagine how the pins will go through the holes as you close the hood, and drill accordingly.

once done, mark the tip of the pins and let the hood sit on them again to mark the top layer..
i guess you get the idea

thanks GT!

so this means the hood is already fully installed and we do this while the hood is on the car...

thanks again!

Do it with the hood installed and the pins installed. I did the driver side as described above using a dab of paint on the end of the pin and drilling through the hood from the underside. Then for the passenger side, I just measured exactly where my driver side hole was on the top of the hood and drilled the passenger side hole from the top down.

I was worried if I did both from the underside, being slightly off in the alignment/angle of the drill might result in holes up top that were in different locations.
