Hood Scoop

I'm trying to add some detail to my hood without actually paying a fortune by getting a new one. I'm debating on whether I should get a hood scoop. I'm looking at the "stick-on" Roush one. I really didn't want to go with a stick-on or bolt-on scoop but oh well. I would paint it black myself(most likely a flat or semi-gloss black). How do you guys think it would look? Worth it or no?
Thanks

You will get many opinions on functional or non-functional scoops, etc. I have the Roush one, obviously non-functional. I like the size and style of the Roush...a reminder that if you go with the Roush you would need to drill 7 holes on the hood.

IMO - Go with a hood super stripe or do the real deal with the scoop. Like I said just my opinion.

I like hood scoops. Hood looks too plain otherwise to me. Who cares if it's functional or not? I LOVE my Boss 429 scoop.

IMO....I'd leave the hood like it is, but add some lemans stripes or a superstripe. The stripes would flow well with your side stripes and wheels.

I have the Roush scoop and it bolts on as well as used tape..

Love the look. You could personalize the sides with some cool lettering..

This is what I did... It's a flat back painted Ford hood scoop.

My thoughts exactly. Scoops give hoods a sort-of height to them and some more detail.

Doing stripes is definitely on my list to do, but not sure WHAT to do. I like the lemans but they're more expensive, but at the same time, I don't know what kind of superstripe to do either.

That looks great. Definitely good to see how a black scoop looks on the tungsten. I like the stripes with it too. I guess it's just a matter of time until I can find a deal on one somewhere. Think I could paint it flat black myself? Just to save money on unpainted parts?

Baltimorestreetmods.com has some decent prices on pre-cut stripes. I've been debating getting a set for my car, but just hadn't decided if it was an install I was ready to do myself. I've heard some people say "go for it", and others say they did theirs, but wouldn't want to do it again.

Thats EXACTLY what I was thinking. They're a fairly cheap mod but the install is almost scary. I guess You could always get them put on by a pro at a shop or something.

I had the Roush scoop and the ford factory scoop, after dry fitting each (laying them on the hood...lol) I decided to go with the factory scoop. That was just my preference. I still have the Roush Scoop, painted it matte black just never installed it. I will sell it for $50 bucks, all mounting hardware and instructions included. Just let me know and I will send some pics of the Roush scoop.
