Last night we started welding the hood. Tig welding is so cool. looks easy to do but time consuming. Yes the hood does buckle but while it is hot, he uses a dolly and hammer and bangs it back to normal. Sweet. Can't wait to see it on the car.
May take every night next week to finish but will keep updating.
Here are a couple of picks. A little bright but you get the jist.

Here's my thing. I love the looks of that hood (prefer the concept hood more -- but it is nice and unique). It probably increases airflow across the radiator a bit (slight better venting), and that increased draw might slightly increase cool airflow to the intake. Or the reduced volume and earlier venting may decrease airflow to the intake and trap heat in little venturies. I hate flow dynamics. In the end, I doubt it does much at all (help or hurt) and is just looks; and it looks good. But you are changing the pressure and flow, could effect down-force, cause vibrations, and so on. So I get uncomfortable with body engineering without understanding the effects. But the project is coming out good looking (from the pics), and I want to see how it ends up....

N E Ways. I called the body shop (still find it hard to drive).
Said it is almost ready for prime. Metalwork is done.
Since i just got news that my vert will be delivered on the 29th, i
don't want to rush him. Should be able to drive next week so i

Anyone know what size those wheels are and how much they lowered the suspension. It looks awesome.
Thanks,
Chris

<gets whiplash from the subject change>

I'm not sure but they look to be at least 18" and I am sure they lowered it. I will look around a few sites to see if there is more info out there.

Just to clarify an earlier confusion:

3D Carbon names thier SEMA car The "Boy Racer" It was the Performance White car with red stripes, 22" wheels, etc. It too, Best of Show at SEMA. That is the hood that is bieng copied.

Ford is building a series of race cars, that they call the Boy Racers as well. They took Daytona this year.

Side note about Daytona.. seems to be a BLUE year in FL!!! Mr Chad Reed won for huge upset this weekend, and Ford took titles as well. Go BLUE!

That hood is going to look awesome! I can’t wait to see the finished product. If I ever did a “Silver Bullit” project ’05 Mustang I would have to have a hood like that. I admire your hard work and determination. Hope you recover quickly.

Asking such an off topic question, is like totally interupting someone elses conversation.
All you have to do is search a little, or start a new thread about it in the appropriate area.
Sorry you took it as being non helpful, after you have been here for awhile maybe you will understand. So now I guess I will have to fry your smily icon :worship: .......................
