Hood pins, debating getting them...
So, without a long story (will post details on the mess later once it is settled), I'm getting a new hood. Specifically the Foose designed hood CDC carries, and I have the CDC Shaker already. To go along with the hood, I'm going to get a paint job to mirror the '69 Mach 1 style hoods.
Now I'm pondering if I want to add hoodpins to the look, and if so what kind? The shop that will be doing the paint on the hood is willing to install them at the same time, so that the holes can be drilled if necessary before the paint job is done. Anyone have suggestions on what pins I should look into to go for the '69 look? They don't have to be functional, though I am concerned about the durability of any of the ones attached by tape.
Thanks for any feedback. Looking forward to showing off pictures of the car once this is all complete.

shelby makes really awesome hoodpins. http://www.shelbyperformanceparts.co...rge/100628.jpg
I have Sparko hood pins and couldn't be happier. They are stainless so they won't rust. They also don't have a lanyard so noone will be able to pull the pin and scratch the paint job on your new hood.
I'm thinking about getting these from Shelby:

They look kinda wicked

Shelby pins ordered. Seems to be a popular choice.

Do they come with any recommended install instructions for the 2005/7 Mustangs? I am getting rid of the hood prop, so that won't cause any interference with the install.

just curious as to the diameter of the scratch plates on your hood pins guys. I bought some the other day and they seemed huge to me. they are 2.5 inches in diameter but they looked like dinner plates up close. is this the standard scratch plate size?
OK, Shelby, FRPP, any others that might get listed, how are all of these holding up to the elements? Only reason I haven't went ahead with a set yet is fear of them rusting since this is my everyday car and no matter what the weather is, if my car is there.......it will rain!
I would go with some original Mustang twist locks.

I was at a Ford dealer and was looking at a brand new SGT. The scratch plates were really beat up. Plus I've heard some SGT-H's have had some rusting. That's the only reason I'm still debating which ones. I like the Shelby/Scott Drake ones cause they are billet.
