I drew this out onphotoshop and my son made it on his laser computer at work. Just got the photo, havent looked at it in the flesh yet.
Thoughts, Changes? Something you like?

Nice work, Randy. Lucky devil. Custom badges 'R' us! Would you replace your "GT" emblem or place it underneath?

Taking orders?

I would replace my GT badges with this. The plan is to see if we can get a design that is well liked and market it. I want to do a font change on the 281 on this one. Also we plan on doing 4.6 in place of the 281 as well for those that prefer liters. I just like the old school cubic inches.
This is an ABS core with a Brushed Alum laminate on top that we engrave through. Also have a smooth aluminum top lam as well.

We are probably going to do 281 GT or 281 rocker stripes as well in vinyl sometime in the future.

I feel like there is a market in well made custom badges, havent been impressed with most I have seen. MRTs, and Autobadges.com, so we will see.

Don't forget to make a 4.0 or what I would really like a 245. I would put mine on the fender by the headlights. Really good looking work

Very nice Randy,

It looks great just as it is, but I'd really love to see the "Chevron" have some depth to it (like the old HiPo 289 badges). Great work.

I agree with Dave. When I first looked at it, I thought something was missing. Maybe that's it.
Randy, I think it needs a different font too. And make it a little larger... the font.
I'm VERY excited about your project, Randy. I'd love to see one of these when you're done.

I'm sure you've looked at plenty of pictures of the emblem, but here's one for everyone else to reference.

looks great .... only thing I'd change is making the "281" a machined black.

Yeah,

If Ford would have just gone with a bore of 3.55" (existing modular bore) and a stroke of 3.65" (existing 4.6L is 3.54" or some list it as 3.55") it would work out to 289.02101 C.I.D.

Could have even gone smaller since they round up.
Look at the 302. It's not a 5.0, but who cares?

Any updates for us, Randy?

Early next week I will have the prototypes here. Unfortunately my son who is making them is 2 1/2 hours away. With my work schedule and his, he mailed them to me today. With the engraving stuff we have access to we wont be able to make the V with the sides slanted. The laser cuts 90 degree angles only. We will do 281 and 4.6 first and see how they do.

So should have pics of them on my car Mon or Tuesday.

I just had an idea earlier... Perhaps you could also make a "281 Supercharged" emblem for those with a SC in their cars. I think it'd be nice mix of old and new...
