Question

All. Need some help on ideas, suggestions, comments, etc on wheels. The 05 gets here in 3-4 weeks and I am about to pull my hair out over trying to find the perfect wheels. I have visited dealers, read mags, call shops, read forums, browsed webpags and talked to friends. Now I am going to ask the real doers of the Mustang world...you guys. I would like to put on 17x9" Cragar SSs but question is will they fit. Must have 5 who say they will and 5 who say they will not. Anyone out there put them on their 05? I am told by most to avoid polished and go for chrome but there is much more to chose from in polished. Anyone out there happy with their chrome or polished and why? If polished is not that bad then my choice is American Racing TT IIs or if I go with chrome and the SS will not fit then American Racing Rebels. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.

It's not hard to find wheels that will fit... as far as the bolt pattern goes.
The problem is finding the right offset.
All the wheels you're looking at come with about a +25mm offset.
The '05 comes with a +45mm offset. If you put the +25's on the '05 they will stick out an extra inch compared to the stock wheels. Combine that with the fact that you're adding an inch to the width of the wheel and now they stick out an inch a half!
Don't let ANY of those IDIOT wheel salesmen tell you any different.
I've found they're just as bad as car salesmen. They lie cheat and steal, just to get a sale.
Do a search for "offset". There's been a LOT of discussion on the topic.

Thanks Jason. I know I am looking for offsets between 30-45. I will do some more research tomorrow. The Cragars have a +32 offset so they should work find by what you are saying.

I think I'm going to limit my search to +35, but that's just me.
My biggest problem is finding some that are wide enough. Looking for 18x9's. All these stupid import wheels barely go up to 8's.

Mustang Tuning has 18x9 and 18x10 in chrome bullits. Might be some others that you like at their site.

None of those (18's) are for the '05. Wrong offset.
