Help removing the stock spoiler
#3
Using the fishing line could work. I replaced my spoiler last Sunday with a 3dCarbon GT500 spoiler. I just followed 3dCarbon's instructions, which had me put some 2" masking tape around the feet of the stock spoiler to protect the nearby paint, then use an exacto knife to carefully cut the 3M Tape as I pulled up on the spoiler some. Worked well. :-)

just did this last weekend..
- unbolt the spoiler
- run fishing line or strong dental floss back and forth through the 3m tape
- use a wedge to lift the spoiler off the tape slightly
- continue using the fishing line to cut through the rest
- repeat for the other side
- once the spoiler is off, you can use a blade to get as much of the tape off as possible. I have one that looks like an ice scraper with a blade on the end.
- be careful around the holes - it's very easy to catch the paint here
- once youve got the bulk of the tape off, you can use mineral spirits or acetone to get off the tape residue. it will soften up the tape, and you can use your fingernail or a plastic scraper to get it off. these chemicals dry very quickly, so the tape will dry up quick.
- Do a small section at a time - also keep a rag and some alchohol to clean up the residue after you've got through with each little section.
This by no means the only way, but it worked well for me.
