Wait for Sylvania Silverstars- much brighter and whiter - they do not make them currently but they are in the process of making them. Will be available in a month or 2.

$1K isn't bad considering your getting the whole setup created specifically for the Mustang. It cost me almost that much to get my Accord setup with HID.

Are you sure about the 9008 SilverStars? There was a post last month that said Sylvania couldn't get them approved.

I want them for both the headlights & driving lights, and would love some good news!

Thanks

For what it's worth the guys at this F150 forum (http://www.f150online.com/forums/sho...hreadid=169531) say it's not going to happen too.

Here's some text from the forum . . . . . . .

"heard it straight from the horses mouth at sylvania, twice. I didnt believe the first customer rep so i asked again.

The H13 (9008) will not be available in the SilverStar option. The National Highway Traffic Safety Board has specified that this particular lamp cannot be coated; therefore it cannot be offered in the SilverStar upgrade.

thanks,
Trish

Hi Ron

Check out my "Fog Lamp Conversion" in my sig.

It is the best $100 I have spent on the car.

Awesome day & night.

Dan you will love those Nokya yellow fogs. I have had mine for over a week and they look great. A nice bright crisp yellow light, great contrast with the headlights. I also have the yellow 3M Clear bra covers on the fogs as well.

Yah beachboy I think I will like them. Should have them anyday. I have always had yellow/amber fogs on all my cars, I like the clarity of them when driving at night. i just got my 8 inch antenna for 18 bucks shipped so I put that on yesterday. I am not sure if I want the yellow covers for the fogs, I am going to see how they look with just the yellow bulbs. Thanks for the info.

Well can anyone tell me how to change the bulbs on the foglights. I took off the radiator cover, and my hands are still to big to fit in the small areas that are open to get to back of fogs. Do you have to come from the bottom or something. Am I missing something here, figured it would be easy to change the bulbs out. Anyway figured I would ask before I start taking things apart. Any info on installation, much thanks.

Remove the 2 bolts that are next to the headlights, holding the top of front bumper cover on, next to the grille. Then you can pull the grille forward just far enough to get the bulbs out. It's still a very tight squeeze, but it's do-able. I just put a set of hyper-white 9005 bulbs in my fogs tonight. Also, I had to trim one of the tabs on the new bulbs to get them to fit properly.

I wouldn't bother wasting your money on silverstars, especially if you want a color change, I had some on my F150 for about 5 minutes and tested it compared to stock, it was barely brighter and the color tone is almost identical. Go with HID's and you won't be dissapointed, if you don't want to buy the saleen kit.....I have a place that sells kits for $300 which is how much I paid for my HIDs for the truck, I've got pics of my 9000K kit on my truck and will be running a 6000K kit on the stang
