It sounds like you have a direct link with Halibrand. Several months ago I made a query about the 18 x 10" for the 05 Mustang GT to one of Halibrands retailers and he confirmed Halibrand had the tooling could cast these at different offset (i.e 43mm). Is that not true, or did one of misunderstand the question?

Paul,
I guess you could say I have a direct link with Halibrand. My office is on the second floor. As they say it all runs down stream from here. I do have 18X10 for the SN-95 Mustangs in the Cobra III wheels but not the S-197 chassis yet we skipped the 18X10 in favor of the 20X9 wheel mold. We justified this because of the slow moving 18X10 for the SN-95 chassis. We will get back to the 18X10 just not in the first two quarters of this year. My currant 18X10 has a 32mm offset we need to get to 50mm to make the wheels fit properly on the new chassis. I do have some blanks wheels built for custom offsets I’ll look into brake issues and see if I could make a set or two if you or anyone else is interested.

Will the v6 3-bar spinner fit on these wheels like your avatar?
Where do we sign up etc???
I'm working on the finance department right now..
Whups! She's calling.... Gotta go!!!

I could not tell you if the factory spinner kits will fit or not. I have never been asked this question. I know our Wing nut kit fits the factory wheel. We use a threaded spud that comes in from the back of the wheel and the wing nut spins on from the outside. My wheels have a 2-¼ center bore if this helps. My wing kits are $70 each or $280 for the set of four

Well, we all are gonna love the fact that you have that office on the second floor! I know I do every time I see my wheels... AND I'm sure I'll love Halibrand EVEN MORE when I see the side exhaust and rear bumper installed!

A pair of 18 x 9 and 18 x 10 with correct offsets would interest me.

Paul,
The 18X10’s I have built for custom offsets will not work on the S-197 chassis. We machined one down as far as was possible and did a test fit on my 05 STEEDA it was past the quarter by about a ¼-inch. I would have like to have had a set also. We’ll just have to bide our time until the 50mm offset wheels get built.

How come 50mm offset for the 10's? I asked Fikse (sseing as they have close relationship at some point with FOMCO) about thier wheels and the recommendation I got was 44mm offset for 10's or 9's. Even the BBS wheels are less than 44.

Paul,
When I was at the measuring session at Ford before the S197 were released to the public we went through all the possible combinations that would work. We measured a GT and a V6 for offset correctness. You have to take into account that the rear has a 19mm offset to the driver’s side to alleviate driveline noise. There was only one other wheel manufacture at the session and it was neither of the two companies you mentioned. Halibrand is part of the SEMA Technology Transfer Program with Ford Motor Company. There are several sets of Cobra III wheels running around Detroit on test and corporate cars. We have been mainly working with SVT and the styling studio. Why the Fikse or BBS would tell you 44mm would work on a 10-inch rim I don’t know. 44mm would put the wheel face even with or just slightly past the quarter panel on the driver side of the mustang. I don’t know what to tell you Paul. I can sell you something that does not fit but would rather you get the best fit possible so you can get the most amount of tire UNDER the car. There are a lot of wheel companies out their that are selling wheels that you have to run spacers to get the wheels to fit or run a smaller tire that is desirable to use the wheel. Maybe were overly cautious but I would rather have 100 happy customers than 1 ticked off customer spreading his miss fortune.

How about the 18 Polished Bullits from Ford for that price!!?

Cant really get you FoMoCo Polished Bullits as I do not manufacture them. I could put you into chrome no-lips 18X9s for $690.00 a set. One of the forum members here has them torchred05 on his S-197. How s that for a deal?

Rony,
I guess I should qualify the pricing I only have 9 sets of No-Lip wheels left in the chrome and none in the MagCoat. The No-Lip was our original big brake wheel. We’re taking a hard look at it’s future right now so I don’t have any more on order. This could be it for the No-Lip.
We are still going to keep producing the Mid-Lip and the Deep-Lip Cobra III Wheels in 17, 18 & 20 inch
