Halibrand Cobra III...Help?

I want to purchase the Halibrand Cobra III wheels mid lip 18X9
Some people say it will fit, others say it won't, wrong offset
I have a 2005 v6 with 16"

If they do fit, will i have to do anything to my car so it reads the speed properly, i mean going from 16" to 18" is a big wheel change! or do i just get thiner tires so the overall size is still the same?

Any advise on tires and types?

They will fit, as long as you get the right offset of the wheels. I was seriously looking at these (still like the look) but decided against, and am going with Raceline GT Magnesium colored wheels, with the knock-off. If you want the Halibrands, give TRQ QTR HSE a PM. His name is Rick, and he's the VP of Halibrand. He can help you out.

I wrote to Steeda.com and they said it would fit my mustang they also said that the tire measurements should be 275/40/18, this will maintain the correct speedometer reading.
Now comes the hard questions of which tires to get. Cause of price my options are:
Kumho Ecsta ASX
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?cf=false&sw=false&cs=275&pc=3337 2&rd=18&ar=40

Falken FK 452
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?cf=false&sw=false&cs=275&pc=1855 7&rd=18&ar=40

Pirelli P-Zero Nero M+S
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?cf=false&sw=false&cs=275&pc=4160 8&rd=18&ar=40

BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/direct/findTireDetail.do?cf=false&sw=false&cs=275&pc=3808 1&rd=18&ar=40

If anyone has any of these tires on their 05+ stang please let me know what you think or if you recomend other tires in this price range please let me know!
-Thanks

I think the best size tires for 18x9 rims are 255/45/18 to keep it close to the stock diameter. I have the BF Goodrich KDW2, in this size and so far they have been great, a little noisy at times but other than that they are impressive so far. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ce+T%2FA+KDW+2

Excellent tires in the rain, pretty quite all around. The co. bought them from does not handle them any longer

I have 18x9 Chrome Deep Dish rims from Mustang Tuning, my tires are 255/45/18 all around and fit great! Do you know what the offset on the Halibrands is? Someone correct me if Im wrong here, but i think anything between a 25 and 45 offset will fit the 05+.
