Guys who have Scott Drake "Powered by Ford" emblems?

I just popped them loose from their package backings. But, there seems to be another layer of transparent plastic film over just the front of the emblems. Is this supposed to stay on there, or should it also peel off?

i dont have that emblem, but i am pretty sure that is just a protective film for shipping. just like how the cel phones, vcr's, and stoves have that plastic film over the delicate areas.

I think you're right. I just didn't want to screw the thing up.

I have those emblems, there was a clear covering on them that had to be removed. Be aware, they don't weather very well (have them on the fenders) and are probably intended to be interior pieces. They have faded badly and the first time I washed the car it looked like the soap did something to the finish. I'm changing them out for the running pony emblems.

Sorry to hear that Justin. Maybe I should spray a coat of clear lacquer on the before I put them on the car (and a coat of wax for insurance).

I did see them on a special edition '08 Mustang, and they were on the fenders in place of the GT. But, that could have been just a display car. I don't know if it would come from the factory that way.

Unfortunately I've had nothing but bad experiences with the quality and fitment of Scott Drake products. Will never buy anything with that name again.

The ones I have are not the same as the ones on the Shelby GT, but they aren't the same quality either. The Shelby GT ones will fare better in the weather since I think they are plastic. When I got the ones I had ordered, I was disappointed that they weren't the same. They look like a very slim piece of aluminum layed into a chrome frame. The aluminum discolored right away when I washed it.

I would like the side emblem from shelby "powered by ford" but the cost seems a bit steep
Has anyone tried a side emblem from billet badges?
I bet they could make something similiar.
