GT500 stripes installed finally!

Well after receiving matte black gt500 stripes for Christmas from my girlfriend, I finally got them on my car. Took two days to install totaling around 9 hours of work. I was very fortunate and had my neighbor who is a mechanical engineer and very good with cars, help me to install them. I couldn't be happier with the end result. No bubbles anywhere! A couple very minor hiccups but nothing noticeable. Just to me .

These stripes were from American Muscle. They did a great job on the material, instructions, and providing PLENTY of stripe material. Great job from AM on that.

My next option is getting new tires/rims. I just put tires on my car ~4000 miles ago and my dad offered to take my rims/tires and I could get new ones. He has an 06 GT with 140k miles, and he wants the bullit chrome ones just like mine, along with my tires. What do you guys think? Black rims to go along with the darken theme I'm going with? Here are my choices:

Anyway, here are some final pictures. Car's dirty but oh well lol

Looks awesome man. They look really great. I love the color of your mustang, I always thought it was black lol. That was the color I was really looking for when I got mine. I want the same stripes on my car but I want the stripes to be the color of your car lol

thanks man. Appreciate it. Yeah I get that a lot haha It's an interesting color. Depending on the amount of sun, clouds, evening/night, it's like a different color in each setting.

Yeah that would look great on black. It's a subtle look but I think it catches people's eyes without being to stand out.

How much break did you leave between the stripes?

Whatever the spacing they came packaged in. I forget the exact distance. I wanna say 1 1/4" but don't hold me at that.

I believe you get some snow/ice in the winter months in baltimore right? If you use this car as a daily driver and park it outside, my advice to you is to clean the car off as best you can. Ice damages those stripes... i know from experience.

tu3218,

Your stripes came out great! Love the flat black against your paint. It makes the car look much meaner.

Thanks for sharing pics. Enjoy showing off the new look!

thanks everyone! Can't wait to get her cleaned up and shining again

I know the instructions stated not to wax(guessing because its matte black), but what about car wash soap that contains soap and wax? How strict should I be with the stripes for anyone that has them.
