GT500 spoiler on my 05 Mustang GT

Just received my GT500 spoiler from the Spoiler Store last week. It took awhile to get all that sticky s%@t from the stock spoiler off, but it is all done now.

However, there is some trace imprint of the stock spoiler still on my trunk lid. I was thinking the new spoiler would cover it and I wouldnt really care, but it turns out the GT500 spoiler does not cover it completely.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get this off? :dontknow: I am wondering if waxing/polishing would work?

Actually, when I took the stock spoiler off.....debated about going spoiler delete as I think the car looks pretty sleek from the back, but decided it looks a bit bare from the side view.

Try a little 3M compound. Had a lot of luck with that when I changed out my stocker for the GT500.

What type of product is 3M compound? Wax or cut polish of some kind?

I will give it a try tomorrow....it is quite faint so I think a little rubbing compound should do it.

Here's a link. You can find it much cheaper at your local auto paint supply store.

OK, got it more less buffed out with a little rubbing compound.

Have noticed that the ends of the spoiler do not hold down too well as the sticky tape is not touching the top of the trunk lid. Therefore, I have piled on a ton of books to apply some weight so it sticks on.

Was thinking of also taking a hair dryer to it afterwards to see if that will make the ends stick better. I noticed in some of the old threads there were some complaints about lifting at the edges.

I used the two outer bolts just to be safe when I installed mine. Love the spoiler and can't beat the price.

How long have you had yours on for? Any problems so far? And yes, you can not beat the price that is for sure.
