GT/CS and GT500 rear bumper cover questions

What color is the bottom of the rear cover? Is it black clearcoated paint or some other color/material/texture? What do I tell the bodyshop with respect to how to paint the cover?

I am assuming you are asking about the diffuser-looking area. My Black GT/CS is a flat black... no gloss. I think it is unpainted. Kind of like the front center of the GT/CS.

It's matte black. It comes pre-masked from the factory. I had my body shop remask it because I'm a perfectionist.

It's actually part of the bumper cover, not a separate piece of plastic.

So in order to get that look for my GT I would need to buy a rear bumper cover for the GT500? I assume the GT/CS is a separate piece that uses the OEM GT rear cover, correct?

GT500 is the entire bumper cover, GT/CS is a similiar cover.

Forgive me but this was a Shelby GT 500 as you see the blackened area of the diffuser goes all the way round.

That does hurt to look at, but the S197's TPO bumpers are absolute RUBBISH. I wish someone would make urethane bumper covers for the S197.

Fresh unpainted GT/CS bumper
Thanks for the info. I'll assume the CS rear is significantly cheaper than the GT500.

The cheapest option is the kit that is offered with all of the attaching hardware you need. Do a search for GT/CS kit. The part number has been listed a few times. I was able to find it online for significantly less than my dealer quoted even with shipping.

They are the same covers, just painted differently.

keep in mind the GT/CS rear bumper curves in more at the bottom and your exhaust will stick out a little further

Your part number is correct. Here's a link. I paid about $20 for shipping...
