GT/CS front questions

a few questions -

Local stealership quoted me $875 total for a GT/CS front bumper...is that a good price? how much did you guys pay to have it painted/installed?

if not, what other options do i have for the front end? i'm looking for something that's not too low.

i think the parking lot at my work might be too steep for a cdc classic, which is what i had on another mustang. how much lower is the cdc classic than the stock fascia?

thanks in advance

The GT/CS Front Fascia is $359.95 here:

plus shipping / and painting of course...

Depends on if you know anybody that does paint/bodywork. I personally would not pay that much for it. As you can see from my signature, I have been seriously debating this. Still have not made up my mind...but I love the look of Poco's ride...

Check this web site.I had my dealership order my CS front fascia kit from this site and paid no shipping(be nice to the parts guy).It has the same base part# as the accessory cataloge.
You also get the lower grilles, hardware and license plate frame with this kit(save a few bucks).

I've been waiting for the kit of come off back order for a month and a half.

I am wondering about this kit given the fact that is an accessory part not a service replacement part. What makes the kit that comes with all the hardware, grilles, and tag frame cheaper than just bare service replacement cover?

I really don't know, thats where I had it ordered from and thats what I received.Initially the parts guy ordered from Ford Original Equipment and the first cs bumper cover came in,bumper only. Then I explained to him about the web-site shown and he re-ordered and we received the kit from the web-site. All the parts have Ford part numbers.Save yourself a buck..or not.
I did see that there are three sites to get this bumper cover from Ford.Ford O.E.(dealership),Ford Accessories, and Ford Genuine Accessories.I took the best deal.

Why bother? I was faced with the decision to "upgrade" to a GT/CS front end a few months ago when my car got backed in to.

I decided against it - after all, I don't want some bas***d form of GT/CS, I want my own car. Also, when I toured a dealership looking at GT/CS front ends, the girl I was with could not tell the difference between the two! (no offense to GT/CS owners)

I decided to remain stock and use the CDC classic chin spoiler. My car is stock height and I have NO issues with curbs, parking, etc.

Just paint your CDC to match your body and I think it is MUCH more obvious to the lay person that your 'Stang is unique.

I can add that "bas***d form" to the list.Clone,poser,wanna be,fake snake,morphedite...
Life is way to short, some of us are having fun with our Stangs with tribute GT350's,Elenors,Mach 1's and I applaud the effort these enthusiasts apply to their rides. After 30 years of restoring older classics, Mustang fever hit me like a ton of bricks. But I've seen more bricks thrown by Stangers who resent change or personal modding. This is my last ride and if I don't have any more radiation treatments I'm stuffing a Shelby Hertz hood on my car next.

The thing that always entertains me about this is that many of the same Mustang owners who throw those "bricks" have no issue installing Cobra emblems or other add-on parts from Special Editions on their rides.

My car has CS bumper covers on it... and 4.0 emblems. Its exactly what it says it is... and anyone silly enough to claim that its a poser obviously has been smoking too much wacky weed!

personally, i dont see the problem with putting a gt/cs bumper on... i like the look plus you get oem quality and fit. looks good especially on lighter color cars. still, i agree partially with mrkabc about putting a lip that does not affect the stock height might be a better way to go. virtually the same look and more practical in everyday driving situations.

mrkabc, this is not intended as a malicious attack, but i find it humorous that you think putting a gt/cs front bumper makes the car a bas***d, but you have no problem with putting the gt500 rear spoiler and gt/cs side scoops. hehe sorry man, no hard feelings.
