Howdy folks. Curiosity makes me ask:

The GT/CS front bumper has the different lower chin, with the black 'insert' in it. Duh, this is well known.

I've not seen one close up until this last Friday, where the dealership I work at (not a Ford one, but won't say, just because, so there, but I'm happy to be there nonetheless)

...uh, anyway I got to see on. It'd been hit in the right front corner, so the bumper was likely replaced, and it wasn't very well done, honestly. Lotta trash. Trade in or something, it's the dealerships' now.

Oh, goodness, the point. Right.

From the factory, is the bumper taped off and the 'insert' not painted when the bumper cover is painted? 'Cause that's what it looks like, but this is a redo, so I'm not sure.

I just had my front switched to the GT/CS and as I recall it came taped off for the proper Ford style paint application.

I have owned my CS since new and it came that way also. It would appear the plastics is coated with something not sure what it is. Almost like a dull coating.

 

The lower chin spoiler is unpainted on the GT/CS bumpers, they are in raw plastic. All of the external plastic parts with that pebble texture are uncoated.
