GT 500 spoiler

I have been looking at GT500 spoiler replicas on ebay and notice that you have to drill 2 additional holes in your deck lid for these. Does anyone know if the actual ford part requires this? I would rather not drill if I dont have to, but those replicas sure are cheaper!

The ford unit does not require any additional holes if you all ready have the standard GT spoiler. Plus they're structurally reinforced. The knock-offs are not.

You do not HAVE to drill two additional holes. The knock off spoilers use two of the four factory holes, along with 3M tape that covers the other two factory holes. The two that are optional for drilling are to the outboard sides of the spoiler.....

Most folks I have seen have not drilled the extra two, and have had no issues with the spoiler....

No issues here with mine. I only Drilled 2 holes with the 3M tape around the perimeter.

Wow, that is the best price I have seen on an OEM. I was looking at these knock offs http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...218724477&rd=1

and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...196465904&rd=1

The $99 painted one seems a bit too good to be true....

Make the best decision you can. Some guys love the OE, while some guys buy the knock-off.

And yea, $99.00 painted seems too good to be true. I wonder who paints them?

I ordered mine off ebay and paid 130 ish shipped and painted. The match is about the same as the match of the fuel door, a couple of angles you can see a slight difference but 99 percent of the time it looks good. I did not drill the 2 extra holes and have no issues so far. It is about 6 months old. I have a tungsten car.
