Ever since I saw the first pictures of the "S-H-E-L-B-Y" badge on the KR 500 & Super Snake trunk lids I wanted to change mine. So today my local dealer got in a KR 500. I slipped over to the back of the vehicle and took some very precise measurements of the letter spacing. Then I went to the Parts Dept. and picked up a 7R3Z-6342528-B name plate for $34. The lettering must then be cut apart so the letters can be spaced properly. Here are the results and how to properly space the letters:

It's really not that difficult now that I have all the measurements. Little bit of painters masking tape to make a horizontal straight line to position the letters 1/8" above the seam on the trunk lid, mark the vertical spacing dimensions on the tape, peel & stick the letters, remove the tape. Took me 45 minutes.

 

Excellent! I feel the same way, once you see the letters on the KR you know you just have to do it!
