I got my car in today and darn, my car has the rear spoiler. I ordered a spoiler delete option, and the dealer screwed up!

I have a brand new CDC ducktail spoiler sitting in a box in my garage floor.

Dealer does not want to eat a new trunk lid. He tried calling other dealers to swap out one, no go :bang: :bang: :bang:

The battle is just beginning!

I waited 6 weeks, garage full of spoilers, and stuff (see my signature).

He said I can waite for him to order a black V-6 and swap out trunk lids or order a new car ( both cost me 6 weeks).

I am pushing for him to order me a new trunk (he said his parts man said it would cost 1K) I am also talking to a good friend at a body shop and see how much he could get in a new trunk lid and painted, etc.

I am very disappointed!!!

UP to now is has not been that bad.

Sorry just needed to vent

Your dealer's telling you a line of crap. The list price on the lid is $325.67... actual dealer cost is probably about $250. With paint and labor the total's about $600-$650 (and that's at list price). They may want extra to blend into your quarter panels, but it's not necessary on a brand new black car... although, if they're going to pay for it, and extra layer of paint and clear isn't a bad thing on these cars... just long as it's done right.

Hum, have dealers body shop weld the factory spoiler holes up, grind/sand smooth, prime, paint and clear coat the entire trunk lid (off the body). I wouldn't think black should need to be blended into quarter panels. Just a thought/option.

Ryland, that is such CRAP!!!. If I ordered the car for someone, and the mistake was on our end, we would do whatever needs to be done to make the customer happy. If you have proof that you wanted the spoiler delete, and the dealer screwed up, don't sit lightly. Tell them to make it right. Good luck and keep us informed on the situation.

thanks, trying to find the part on the internet to shut him down.

My bodyshop recommended getting a whole new trunk lid! He said that I would never be happy with it "fixed"

Nevermind, I just checked my PM. I'm going to update my software to make sure it's the most recent avail. The info I gave you was for an '05 - I highly doubt it's changed. I'll get back on here in a little bit, it takes a while to do the update.

I would just tell him to fork over the 1K then to you as a payback for his screwup. That will probably get him off his hiney

I would tell him to take 800 bucks off my order and take it. Granted I like spoiler delete better, but for an incentive I could definetly learn to like it.

thanks to all those who answered. The dealer called me today and made it right. I got the car home and the new trunk will be in next week. Oh, did I mention that I got a new car in the garage?
