I'm extremely happy with this mod! It really adds to the retro feel of the car. I bought it prepainted and it's a perfect match.

Looks good. Like how the ducktail covers up the third brake light and cleans up the back of the car.

I can't tell, did you get the third brake light option from CDC? I don't plan on doing the third brake light option. Just wondering if you did, and if so, do you like it?

Yes, I do have the 3rd brake light from CDC. You can't really see it unless the brakes are applied, and that's why I like it. I figured I didn't want another reason to get pulled over in case I'm breaking a law, and I agree with the purpose of the 3rd brake light, to improve visibility to the distracted driver talking on the cell phone behind me.

Looks sharp! The CDC ducktail looks clean without the 3rd brake light on the trunk. Unfortunately I am waiting for my SSE ducktail.

Good point. When are officials going to realize talking on a cell phone is almost as dangerous as driving drunk. It has nothing to do with how many hands you have on the wheel.

A friend of mine was a mechanic at Toyota for years. The company got rid of everybody and hired newbies. That stinks, but he's taking it in stride. Anyway, he's between jobs with a garage full of tools, and he's attentive to detail so called him up right away. My good fortune that he was available to do the job right away and for half the cost of a shop.

Stargirl66,
Ok, so, you have talked me into the third brake light option from CDC.
It's ridiculous! I get behind people in the middle of the day, and I think, wow, this person is drunk at noon. No wait, they're on a cell phone...what an ahole.
What does it look like on the inside? I hope it is a clean look.

I put mine on last night and I love it. If it was a hair taller it would be perfect, but I'm satisfied with it. I like it covering the brake light too. So how did you feel about drilling those holes

Thanks Mike

IF I were to display a bumper sticker (and that will never happen), it would read "Hang Up and Drive!." Never did like seeing someone near me on the road talking on a phone. Sometimes they're multitasking by talking AND smoking or eating, holy crap! I think we'll be seeing more and more states issue laws against it as the accident statistics begin to take shape. I am a cell phone owner, but usually have the car parked if I need to use it.

Back to topic, the CDC 3rd brake light integrates very nicely. You can see the casing when you look in the rearview mirror, and you can faintly see the adhesive outline from the outside through the window, but overall it could pass for stock. I've been looking at 3rd brake light placement on other vehicles on the road, and the majority of them were placed at the top of the vehicle, and I think this position on the Mustang is close to the average sight line of a driver behind it.
