good price on painting window scoops in Orlando

I am about to order xenons window scoops for 122 from cal-mustang. I found them painted for 268.00 I figured that was way to expensive. I just called and got an estimate on painting them, I figured, 60-80 dollars, they wanted 150 over at down reid. Is there that much involved, am I missing something? Or is that what I should be paying. Does anyone maybe know a cheaper place to go in central florida , or even south florida?

yes, there is that much involved. To do it right they need to be epoxy coated, primed and painted.

John is right , I have louvers not scoops , but they were $150 each side ...

Just to let you know, I just got my MRT/CDC louvers. I have them in the shop as I type this. You need to sand them...both sides, I did mine with 320 grit. Then they need to be primed. I use Dupont high solids 2K primer (grey). They then need to be re-sanded. I will wet sand with 400, then 1200 sandpaper.They then need to be cleaned, sealed and then painted (Base/Clear).
My cost for just the paint, 1 PINT of Redfire is $60.00 !!! That does not include the primer, sealer,reducers/hardeners or clear Now consider labour costs on top of that!! Believe me, it is very expensive to paint a car and do it right!! The cost of material is skyrocketing !!!

I paid $60 to have mine sanded, primed, painted, and clearcoated.

I paid $225 @ Tropical Ford on OBT. Dealt with Carla the Body Shop manager. If they are painted properly the inside will also be painted a satin black rather than the exterior body color. Usually you get what you pay for. Tropical also painted my CDC Classic Chin Spoiler.

I picked up my Mustang from tropical. I wonder if there body shop would cut my hood for the shaker hood scoop?

I have more pics, but the stupid computer is broken, so I can't download them yet!

I installed the clears in the front, and left the stock bulbs, it's a pale white, kinda yellowish, I like it... Will post as soon as I get my computer back.

How are you coming along with your vinyl project?

Going to see paint shop guy this week, he also does vinyl (did not know that last week). He did a great job on my chin spoiler, so maybe he can do equally as well on my rocker stripes. Still thinking about the whole '72 Sprint theme. Probably will do the rocker stripes now, then think about the hood/rear deck thing. Just ordered 3D Carbon's U-trim, so I will post pixs with that gets painted and installed.......
