Is This A Good Deal?
http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ptd/4294857496.html
I've been planning on getting a GT500 rear bumper for my V6, and I came across this today. Based on the fact that he has a lot of bumpers for sale, I'm guessing he repairs them and resells them. That being said, should I be worried about the quality of the repair and how much prep will be required to install it?
Also, as this will be going on a V6, does anyone know if I will I need anything extra to install it? Or does it just reuse the existing bolts/fasteners?

Anyone familiar with body work though? If it needs work (if his work was ****ty) before painting, is that likely to negate all of the savings of buying from him instead of AM/etc?
Or is there anything I should look for as far as signs of ****ty body work/repair?

It will fit, you can ask for pictures of the inside to see the damage, sometime it's just a crack been weld or a dent that came out with the heat gun, even to different bumper weld together, usually you see the repairs from the inside, well repaired, well sanded, well primed with promoter, no future problem

my question is why not buy it new directly from Ford. It only lists for 355, so it has a selling price of about 290 from the good dealers. The part number is 6R3Z-6320049-BA, and it comes wrapped, in a big box, with necessary attaching parts. You only need to switch the flat bar from your old bumper to the new one in the center. I would go new over a put together part. JMO.
$274 new from Tasca parts. Why buy someone else's repairs? JMO of course.

Do you have any specific links? I don't think I've ever come across a new one for much less than $400...

Just call in that part number I posted and get a price from your dealer. Go online to Ford Parts and get the list price and what they will sell it for. Tasca Ford was only 274 online. I bought mine, frt and rear from my dealer in Alaska without freight charges. That was a big deal. I only paid 314 for the front bumper kit.

You can also just ask the dealer to price out a GT/CS bumper for you. It is the same part actually, the Shelby just is painted differently.
So if you are getting a bare bumper cover it doesn't matter and just paint it how you want.
