Hey Al, When did you place your order and how long did it take to get it? I ordered mine over the weekend and a nice gal called me Tuesday and said it would take an extra day for the painting.

I'd even take camera phone pics at this point.

The thing I don't get is how the people who have the spoiler really haven't commented on the quality, even if it is unpainted. I want to know does it look rough, lots of pits or areas that need correcting, look like a quality piece, are you happy, etc.? I am considering the hood and spoiler but didn't want to be the guinea pig with a company I know little about. What scared me was when I called back in August to find out if the hood is functional, no one could talk about the hood except for one guy who seemed to never be around.

I am glad to hear they are delivering but something seems fishy. If you have time to post that your hood is being painted but your are busy with other things, would that extra 30 seconds commenting on the quality hurt you? I think for a lot of guys who have the factory spoiler, this is their number one (and only in my opinion) option and we are all excited that the spoiler is "out in the wild". So please--take the 30 seconds to comment on how it looked out of the box before paint!

the spoiler looked good out of the box... But when I took it to be painted, it was another story. Turns out that the gel coat that was used is bubbling up after it was painted. He has now repainted it 3 times and thinks he has got it with out bubbles in it. He has told me I should have it back tomorrow!

That makes me think it would be better to just have Gef paint it, so that if it sucks, I can send it back and tell them to fix it or refund it. I don't want to receive it, have them try to paint it and then have it turn out to suck at that point. I'd rather just get it, look at it, and decide right there whether I have to send it back, without putting any extra money into getting a body shop to paint it when it might turn out to be crap.

Is it just me, or is this reminiscent of the initial RKSport California Dream hood problems? Not that they're related, but it seems like it's a "perfect" product, and then the first few end up having issues. It sounds like RKSport has fixed all their issues and their hoods are coming out properly now, so hopefully Gef can do the same.

Yes, it uses the factory holes. Theoretically, you can just take your spoiler off and put this one on, although your stock spoiler has some kinda tape or goo between it's base and the body, so you could attempt to reuse that, or you could replace it.

If you were to replace that stuff between the spoiler and trunk lid, what would you use to replace it, and where would you get it?

I have a thin black rubber mat that I will use. It's almost the same thing that you use to line drawers.

thats exactly what the body shop told me. they said it started flaking off and that theypretty much had to do some body woprk on it, re-primer it, and paint it again. took an extra day but got it back today. hopefully pics tomorrow.

here's some pics. when its all said and done i think it looks really good from most angles. some angles it looks questionable. the piece itself is larger than i thought it would be. overall i like but at the same time i think i may be too used the factory spoiler that i'm going to have to get used to it.

God shots. I agree that shot 3 is bigger than what it looks like on their website. It looks good and like I said before, for people with the factory spoiler, this is the best option. I just found this spoiler and would never use it but hey...

Spoiler looks pretty good. Yeah, if you can get some shots of it from the back, that would be great.
