When I first saw those rims a few years ago I didn't like them. Now that I have seen them on your car I absolutely love them. Your car looks great.

Well thanks! I kept going back and forth on wheels, but always ended up back at these, since I wanted to get some for my '03 GT before I wrecked it and never did. It's absolutely amazing me how wheels and a drop can make a car look completely different. They really finish it off.

Here's a before and after:

Ugh, don't remind me! I planned on removing it for the shoot, but forgot my screwdriver! I was not happy! But hopefully we'll wash up the '05 this week and take them both out for another shoot. I have a custom rear plate coming today for photo shoots and the track.

I wonder how many states require front plates. That's another thing I don't miss about NJ.

Dark, what offset are the rears? I know some don't like the stance but I actually like how they "bulge" out a little. IMO it gives it a tough muscle car look.

The wheels are 18x9 with a 6.2" backspace (+30mm offset) and 18x10 with a 7.1" backspace (+40mm offset).

I love the way they fit. They fit perfectly in my opinion. They come very close to the edge of the fender, but if I were to bottom out, they would just barely tuck in.

Ok so this might be the sexiest rear shot I have ever seen.... Now I have to know what makes it look so hot. I already have fat rear shoes as well as I am in the process of putting the gt500 spoiler on. So the real difference is the suspension set up. I have yet to even look into suspension stuff so if you could elaborate exactly what you have and how much it cost and how much it dropped you I would appreciate it. I have the gt500 nose so my front end is already pretty low whereas my rear is freaking high. If I did this drop how much would my front and back go down? I would love to drop the rear to this height without lowering the front much at all if it is possible. Anyway full explanation is required! Your car looks awesome

Thanks

I used the Eibach Pro-Kit, which lowers about 1.2" in the front and 1.4" in the rear. Because it's a bit more in the rear, it effectively lowers the front bumper 1-1.1". The springs cost just over $200, I believe. I also picked up the Tokico D-Specs for just over $500, both items on sale at stangsuspension.com at the time. Along with that, I put in an adjustable panhard bar from BMR (just over $100), adjustable UCA (about $175), and LCA relocation brackets (about $125).

CDC chin spoiler or some other type of chin spoiler to REALLY set off the front end. But serious, I love that rear shot! Still debating between the GT500 spoiler or none at all.

Thanks! Custom painted Agent 47 mirrors arrived today, along with duo-tone SHR fuel door. Got the fuel door in. Working on the mirrors now. Snow expected this week though, so probably another week or two for another photo shoot.

Awesome thanks for the info now I was planning on buying all of these through STEEDA and just using their ultra lite springs will this basically maintain the same look? Also if your buying LCA relocation brackets do you also need to buy the adjustable LCA? I stuck all of this in the shopping cart and it ran out to $1500 and I nearly shat myself. Is all of this needed? I really want to drop the rear of the vehicle much more then the front but I definately want to drop it so that I close the gaps under the rear fenders. I so far am stock but intend to do a vortech/paxton in about a year and a half but at the moment I have no wheel hop. Therefore my question is could I just go with the ultra lite springs and Tokico D-specs and still maintain this look and majorly improve handling? If I need to go with the LCA/UCA's then I will but I just wanted to double check because I have never done any suspension work so this is all new territory for me. I honestly want to do as much as possible but will have a shop install this and my overall cost can't go over 1500 really. Thanks for the help!

I got the wheels on eBay from these guys http://myworld.ebay.com/wheelindex/

I want to find some pony caps the same size, but I dunno if I'm going to find anything. I may have to come up with something. Here's a picture of the caps from the aftermarket wheels (on the left) and a standard large pony center cap that works on American Muscle type Bullitts (on the right).

If the caps are the same diameter, are you able to remove the top portion of each cap then epoxy the pony top to the other caps frame?
BTW, your car looks terriffic!
