#2: Not insane at all! I love the classic tribar pony!
Hec I'd love to remove my faux gas cap completely, gloss the deck panel and just leave the tribar pony.
I'm even the guy who wouldn't mind removing the Boss C-Stripe and leaving "BOSS 302" in the 1969 Boss 429 style.

#3:... Is... is that a GT... with a GT500 motor?

Am I correct in assuming that they covered the holes left by the pins from the GT badge?

#3. Yes, yes it is. I guess if you badge it a v6, with a GT500 motor, it averages out to a GT?

Where did you get those?

One thing I don't like about the pony package badges is that I think they may be a bit too big.

Not the best photo, but the only one I have online. These were custom made to go over the Pony Package pony.

The old badges have different mounting pins. I clipped/ground those off and cut out many small pieces of 3M doublesided tape to install. They do cover the original GT mounting holes.

The problem that I encountered with the badges, however, is that they are dished, slightly concave, to fit inside the dished center cap of the wheels.

To correct this, i slowly heated the badges in the oven until they were just slightly pliable, and slowly worked them to where they were close to flat (they still aren't perfectly flat, but I think only i notice). It took several rounds per badge of heating, bending, coolling... repeat.... to get them where I wanted them. Probably spent about 20 minutes per to do them.

I would love to get the old '66 versions but removing mine would leave the holes.

I bought a set, but they are very pricey for plastic badges.

The Billet Badges version seems like a much better option if you want that style.

I stole MikuhlBrian's fender idea (thank you. They look awesom on Vista Blue) and added a 68 / 69 gas cap badge to the trunk emblem.
