My buddy was showing me his little MR2 today. He went to Pep Boys and bought that colored vaccuum hose and covered all his underhood wiring in it (his was yellow, but he said there was a "dozen" different ones). He said the harnesses he couldn't slip the stuff over, he split it like loom and placed it on there. It actually looked really good. It's an idea.

Wow, looks great! Such an improvement over Ford's tape job!
Wow that is a clean engine bay. The only other one I have seen this clean is Pony Girls Yellow thing. Both are cleaner than my house. I was impressed with hers and I am yours too. Do you ever drive that thing?

Slim to not at all and Slim just left town. It's been raining on and off the past two weeks here. adrenalin knows what I mean.

I tend to think its possible an engine cleaner left to soak too long could have caused a reaction with the tape, in the past. I have not run into that kind of problem. Just tapes that the ends loosen on my dailys. Those I just cut off and never replace.

And the GT's engine and my Cobra will never require that type of cleaning.

I do know what you mean. The weather stinks. I barely got finished going over my car with the clay bar the other day and it started to rain again. I finally got 1 coat of Mequires NXT wax on it. I figure by the time I get another coat of wax on, interior cleaned up and engine bay done the summer will be over.

Saturday was a 72 degree, but the first day of no rain in 11 days here. The GT was out to a local car cruise. When we came home I tested the Engine Bay temps.

I did about 25 areas all around the engines wires coming within 1" of the block sometimes and upto around 3"-4". Most temps were in the 135 to 160 degree range. I found a few 174's and my top find was 185 at the driverside front of intake.

Went back out for a twenty minute ride and wanted to test again as soon as I stopped in the driveway. I found the same results.

Visual inspection found a few tape ends that like to release just like any electrical will do. Tested one it released clean. Just rewrap back in place if your end is clean.

Bruce, thanks for the update. I got the C&L CAI in this past weekend and spent some time removing the pieces of tape that were just hanging on by a thread and holding nothing together. I'm going to go with the black tape and neaten her up now.
