I called MRT this morning to ask when we can expect the 1/4 window louvers to be shipped. I was told there will be a delay, so I asked the gentleman (Scott) to shoot me an email explaining things so I could post it on this site for everyone to see. He thought that was a good idea...here's what he said:

Good morning Tom, thank you for your call concerning the MRT Interceptor™
quarter window louvers. We have updated our estimated availiability of
these parts to 5/15/05. We are making a revision to the production tools
in order to ensure that the product meets our high standards of quailty and
customer satisfaction. We are disapointed that the products are not on the
shelf by now, but this timing disapointment will not pressure us into
release an inferior product. Thank you for your patience and understanding
in this matter. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to
contact us at (248) 449-4034.

 

Well I guess it will be interesting to see what the second version of the Street Scene louvers look like.

 

I'm going to wait for the MRT's. I want to be able to remove them to clean the windows. I'm sure it was painful for MRT to delay these, but I'm glad to see they want to get it right instead of rushing them to the market.

 

WOW..........I am having to rethink my options at this point. I need mine on by May for a car show and by June for the Pony Drive. That is a long delay!! End of March to now May.....

Very disappointed. My sales person didnt even call me ( Kim) even though I have been calling her for a few weeks now.

i've ordered both (rear and side) louvers. it seems like i have to wait till may now!

 

I personally am in no rush for my side louvers. So I may still get the MRT louvers. But, I am sure that MRT is going to lose some business with this delay. I understand they want to make sure that they have a superior product. But it should not take this long. MRT had these style louvers on the Interceptor almost 6 months ago. I'm sure if they had really put the hammer down, they could have had the tooling done and had their louvers out when Street Scene did.

 

I agree with you Ian. It's not like this car was a big surprise. Personally though, I don't mind waiting. It's easy to do since my car isn't here yet

I think now it's been pushed to the middle of May. But at this rate, it'll get pushed back again. And we'll be lucky to get them before Christmas.

 

What is the deal there? Does no one have a real answer over there as to what is going on?

MRT stated it would be May 16th.

 

John, it's getting later, even just by days now. They said May 15 last week. Now, it's the 16th. I guess you can add on a day or two per week to the ETA. So, my guess is the end of May, if you want a realistic date.

 

May 15th is a Sunday. I'd be surprised if they were open on a Sunday, let alone if any company would ship that day.

Targeted Ship Date: April 25

the wait is almost over...

 

Just gave them a call, hopefully they call back telling me they shipped my set.

 

ARE THEY IN?

 

As I read this thread for the first time, I find all this very interesting.... I originally ordered my rear window louvers from California Mustangs the 1st week of February, knowing then (they said...) that they would not be available until 1st week of April. So on Tuesday April 5th, I call them, and they tell me there is a manufacturing problem and they won't be available until the end of May first of June!! :bang: So I start looking around on the net and find MRT's rear window louvers, and their site saying Early April too. I call MRT and ask if their louvers are available and explain my situation and that California Mustang said there was a manufacture issue, etc.. (As most of the distributors are getting their window louvers from the same place...) Anyway...

MRT tells me on the phone that they are getting their rear window louvers in by the end of the week, April 8th and will be shipping the following week.. So I order them form MRT and call California Mustang to cancel my previous order with them.

So April 12th rolls rolls round, I email MRT and again, I get the song and dance, they say "getting them the end of the week, shipping the next week". So I wait impatiently for the next week to roll around, yet again.. Then I email them, again, the week of April 18th.. yet AGAIN they say "getting them the end of the week, shipping the next week".. now I'm getting a little upset and ask them if they know or not for certain they are getting them and when??, I tell them that I'm getting tired of the song and dance, no explanation of why each week I get the same story.. They respond this time that they are finished and now they are trying to figure out how to get them shipped to MRT from the manufacture.. and again "getting them the end of the week, shipping the next week".. then after that conversation, I hit their web site and see the web page has changed from "Targeted Ship Date: Early April" to "Targeted Ship Date: April 25".. I find it interesting that they tell "outdoorstom" April 7th, 2 days after they tell me they are getting them "the end of the week" that they won't be available until May 15th? Then it's May 16th... any body find this a little disceptive?

I know some of ya'all are going to say, good things come to those that wait... but I'd rather be told the truth then lied too! With a specific date of today on their web site, I hope this time it's true!!
