He could sell those dual vented hoods on ebay and make loads of money if he was willing to make more of them. I would definitely get one for my GT/CS. It would be the key part for me to make my tribute.

Someone did make it. LOL. J/K! We know what you mean.

Seriously, that hood adds immensely towards pulling off "the look".

Precisely what I've been saying all along.

I suspect the "official" Bullitt will have nothing...or worse, a hood scoop.

I never really understood this arguement. It depends on what you consider the real Bullitt (technically the 01 is, 68 is just a GT) If you are comparing to the 01 Bullitt then yes, the Bullitt didn't have scoops. But if comparing to the 68, what would you consider the object behind the door? If anything, it's just a faux scoop. So I don't really see anything wrong with it if someone chose to go that route. I do like the clean look that the 01 had (not biased in any way of course), but I think the C scoop on the S-197 is kind of boring and a scoop might give it more of a 68 look.

Excellent job - I sent the URL of this thread to a contact I speak with at Ford. You could probably sell the hood very easily as an aftermarket pice if you ever found a way to deal with copyright, production, and order management issues

Any plans for some interior treatments?

PS - I too would like 19" wheels but other than that, spot on!

Regarding the upcoming 08 Bullitt, if the hood is unchanged (or simply has a scoop), I wonder what the reasoning is behind the Bullitt-specific hoodliner?

Maybe the hood liner has "Bullitt" embossed in it on the underside. Good question though, hopfully there is a different hood treatment unlike the photos we've seen.

David do you have any pics of the underside of the hood or building the hood? I'd love to see them

Well the Bullitt has a part that looks like a side scoop integrated into the body:http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/timeline/67-68/68/68MustangFastback01-hr.jpg ,so thats why I thought it should have one. The 05' mustang has that integrated scoop style too,but it is not slanted out like the Bullitt's.

That "scoop" on a 68 is a piece of stamped metal set into the body line. It is all of a 1/2 thick. Does nothing for the body lines of the car so it has no need to be there. I am surprised they stayed on the movie car. Everything else was removed or painted.

I am talking about the big squarish piece of body that is up against the rear fender. I am telling you this just in case you were talking about the silver piece.

05+ has that body line. Not quite as pronounced but it's there. I suppose they ould add a piece to make it more like that.

Nice and clean ride.

I might consider bullitt color if my car paint fades.

:-)

Just read this thread start to finish, and every positive comment I must agree with. The car looks amazing, and I hope you enjoy it to the best of your ability... with that said, I do not grant you any "permission" for chasing Chargers around until they run into gas stations.
