Couldn't wait , made my own
I hope Ford is taking notes.
That looks pretty much spot on, man!
I think the 20" wheels are a bit big; 19" would probably be perfect. But I think Torque Thrusts are only available in 18" or 20".
But overall, that's what a Bullitt should look like. You should be commended for outstanding work.

I wasn't sure if Ford was going to live up to my expectations with a Bullitt, so I decided to make my own. I know it won't hold any collector value but she looks good to me. After six months of fabricating, painting, and looking for parts, I think I almost have my car to what I wanted a Bullitt to look like. I managed to fabricate a Bullitt like hood out of an old 68 hood I had hanging around. Customized some 20" rims (caps & paint, I love 20's on the new stang), painted the car, did the Shelby GT grille overlay, added some blacked out trim for the tail lights, blacked out the fake gas cap, filled the side fender emblem holes, and added some quarter window louvers. And a few other touches. None of it is photo chopped. I tried to get the Saleen PJ chrome grille trim but they wouldn't sell it to me. PJ only. Next are some performance upgrades. I just wanted to throw mine out there for more speculation and motivation for others. Hope you like.
VERY NICE. You have tallent and your vision is spot on.
Little nits:
1.) Lower the car a touch. The 20s are fine if you reduce the fender gap just a little, maybe 1" total drop max.
2.) SilverHorseRacing can get you any type of custom rear medallion you want as they have CNC machines and can do just about anything.
3.) The trim in the grille can be done by removing the stock grille and getting some trim from several suppliers. I have seen it on several cars at shows and I'm sure someone posted the mod.
Outside of that, the thing is awesome.

MTAS - Yes, I took the headlights apart and painted the buld cover and your can't really tell from the pictures but I filled in the gills on the headlight bucket and painted it DHG to match the body color. Just makes the headlights look smoother up close.
And yes, the car was photographed at Ford Island at Pearl Harbor.
Again, Thanks for all the great compliments and suggestions!!!
Bigger brakes are hopefully instore around Christmas.

David, keep the chrome trim on the car. It looks right at home. And don't put ANY side scoops on it. Mustangfan123, the real Bullitt didn't have scoops on the side, so the tribute shouldn't either. Your car is amazing!!!

That is a freaking amazing transformation! The hood is nuts!
Awesome, just awesome!

That is almost exactly the picture of the Bullitt as I've seen it in my head over the past year.
Are you going to put a wood grain dash face with leather dash cover?
I think if you send Saleen photos of your Bullitt they might change their mind and hook you up with some chrome bits.
I completely agree..Ford should be paying attention, especially to your hood. I do like the fact that you made it your own... it doesn't have to be a replica... just an utterly recognizable tribute car, which it clearly is. Congrats on a job well done.
