Couldn't wait , made my own

I wasn't sure if Ford was going to live up to my expectations with a Bullitt, so I decided to make my own. I know it won't hold any collector value but she looks good to me. After six months of fabricating, painting, and looking for parts, I think I almost have my car to what I wanted a Bullitt to look like. I managed to fabricate a Bullitt like hood out of an old 68 hood I had hanging around. Customized some 20" rims (caps & paint, I love 20's on the new stang), painted the car, did the Shelby GT grille overlay, added some blacked out trim for the tail lights, blacked out the fake gas cap, filled the side fender emblem holes, and added some quarter window louvers. And a few other touches. None of it is photo chopped. I tried to get the Saleen PJ chrome grille trim but they wouldn't sell it to me. PJ only. Next are some performance upgrades. I just wanted to throw mine out there for more speculation and motivation for others. Hope you like.

That is one bad ride! Love the custom work. Some might not dig the 20's, but I also have 20's and they look right at home on the new stangs.

BTW Welcome to the site!

That's fantastic! I love the fabrication on the hood. That's great. Well done. My only comment would be maybe instead of blacking out the rear medallion center piece, maybe get a "Bullitt Tribute" decal, or something.

Really appreciate the replies! Yeah, I've been one of those long time readers but a new poster. I wanted to label it somehow as a tribute but just decided to keep it as plain as possible.

well usually im not a fan of replica cars but this just changed my opinion. it seems like u put tons of time doing custom fabrication and paint and everything and this is the most perfect and well put together mustang ive seen in a long time. these 20"s look GREAT on the car and the way they r painted makes the entire car come together...not that u need to but i think the look of the car would be enhanced if u threw on some tints and it doesnt seem like its lowered so if its not...go for it!!!!!!

Sweet ride! Looks better than what Ford has in store for the official '08 Bullitt if the info. on another thread is true. BTW, are you on the island of Hawai'i? I'm guessing you're on Oahu because it looks like you got a Recon sticker. Guessing the picture was taken at K-Bay or something? There's another member here (soundwave) with a Alloy S197 and we're both members of a local Mustang club. Come check us out sometime!

I agree, tastefully done, simple, and to the point. It just goes to show that you don't have to buy a Bullitt from Ford to get what we all like most about the Bullitt car.

It looks very good. Great job on the hood.

Is the paint the DHG from the "01 BULLITT?
