Hey y'all. I haven't posted in this forum for along time, probably cause i don't have a mustang... I spend pretty much all my time in general vehicle discussion and other fords. But i just had a thought the other day: They say the 3 bar chrome grill on the fusion is set to become ford's corporate grill/dna/whatever you wanna call it, and that it'll turn up on future ford cars. So far its looking like the Edge crossover will definitely get it, judging from spy shots, and the 500 is supposed to get it as a shot of adrenaline to hopefully boost sales with a cooler look.

I immediately just assumed the mustang would be exempt from this family integration, cause its a SPECIAL CAR! hahaha... but then i was just thinking that, 1, that grill is pretty sweet, and could possibly fit well with the mustang's look. and 2, the rest of ford's cars would benefit from a stronger link to such an awesome car as the mustang. Like "Hey, that 500 sedan has the same grill as a mustang! it must be a helluva sweet ride!". well, maybe an exageration but you get the idea.

So i went to the photoshop forum and started a thread:
http://forums.bradbarnett.net/index.php?sh...=0&#entry549372

and got a pretty sweet photoshop in return, thanks to grrr428 (honorable mention to 6t7 stang!).
I thought maybe now i could bring this over to a higher traffic forum to see what people think of it. Do you think Ford might consider incorporating this into that refresh in 2008 or 2009 or whenever its supposed to be?

Nice photochop, but I'm not a fan of the grille. Too flashy...doesn't look as "classic" or as "menacing" as the blacked out one.

For some reason I picture that grill combination with a bow tie in the center!

I must say that is an excellent photoshop, but it is still ugly! I concur, that needs a bowtie!

the people have spoken! i guess the feelings are pretty unanimous too. oh well, i thought maybe it'd be cool, I like the idea of all the ford cars sharing a design feature, but if it don't look good, then forget it.

yup, if Chevy ever bought the rights to the mustang, that is what the grille would look like.

Outside of the Mustang context, I think it looks very cool. On the Mustang I can't say that I agree. It looks... out of place and a little too "big." I also thing that it de-emphasizes the fog lights, and since I love them, I don't like that. I think it would look better without the foglights at all, but just not good enough.

I don't like it either. Somehow it is too "Chevy"-looking (think SSR?). Maybe if Chevy started putting pony emblems on their cars, they'd be able to sell more cars? Forget I even mentioned it... :nono:

I don't think it looks awful... kind of modern, in a way. I prefer the current grille but that definitely stands out!
