Do yall think they will make clear corners? Or because this mustang is suppose to replicate the old school mustangs that they wont? Im curious if the market would be good for it! I personally like them.

EDIT: I put this in the wrong forum, sorry!

Been discussed, try to search. And hands down it was voted a big NO-NO :notnice: You will be very Acura integra-like.

I have to disagree with the opinions so far. The first picture released officially by Ford of the new body style shows the car with clear corners. It looks WAY cleaner.
If you think an 05 Mustang with clear corners looks like an acura you need to get some glasses. Now if you put Euro tailiights and a VTEC badge... then you will be laughed at.

I think the clear on silver works. Maybe not on other colors.

Now if someone designed a replacement corner that had a smaller amber portion. that would be perfect.

Vote or no vote, I'd like to see some different options come out for the corners. The amber just stands out like a sore thumb to me. I'd like to see a smoke color offered in addition to clear, then I'll decide if thats what I want on my car or not.

oh you're right anything on an acura must be bad. lol
Ignorance is bliss.

Yes we all know it's easy to be ricephobic and scream out some witty rice related comment whenever we think we might be influenced by another car culture. At the same time I think it's hilarious to think that you are yelling out rice and our beloved mustang was cheifly designed by a individual of asian decent.

On a related note....

Ok now tell me what you notice about the above pictures.. did I happen to miss the giant obnoxious orange turn signals on the classic designs of our heritage?

Now I also like the idea of tinting or blacking out the corners... but would that work? Can you even see the signal then?

Oh Good God, there's nothing rice about clear corners on the front, provided that you put a mirror bulb in there that lights amber when powered. Put a clear/white bulb in there - that's ghey. I'm hoping for some clear/smoke ones to more closely match the headlamp housings. Would look sharp with a mirror bulb IMO.
As seen in this auction, for example only!

Thanks Dave. And you're right... you need amber light coming from the signal. I would agree with the rice comment if we were talking about clear taillights or something way over the edge. I just think the turn signals, as they are stock, take away from the classic lines of the S197.

Maybe there will be a revised air dam released that has some small round amber signals. That Xenon one was is a good attempt but I'm not feelin it.

I still dont see why clear corners would be rice? In my opinion, if you slap a bunch of stickers of what you dont have, thats rice. If you put a hideously ugly wing, thats rice. If you have a v-tech inside sticker, thats rice. Clear corners clean up the front, i had a ranger with clear corners, and it was setup offroad, how would that be rice? Again, its all about opinion, I hope they make them someday, it would incredibly awesome on silver.

So, regardless of the rice question, I would like to do this, and I'd like to know where I could get clear/fogged lenses for this. Would I be able to get proper replacements for the original ones, or would I have to hack up something? I'd prefer a proper replacement

The problem here is that the definition of "rice" tends to be as arbitrary. Lets face it, "rice" is just another way of describing something the individual doesn't like or want. I'll give you an example, here's an example of something installed on an 05 that I consider rice:

Why? Not because its true rice because its not. Just because I'd never want wheels on my ride that stick out beyond the fender wells.

I don't understand it. Back 25 years ago the oranger the better. When they first came out with orange glass bulbs instead of painted bulbs the color was so much more vivid. They were great. We would ride around at dust with the parking lights on because the orange bulbs looked so great. Orange lens are the only way to go anything else is just not right.
