Clear corner signals

recieved my clear corner corner signals for 52 bucks from jegs

Turns out they wernt so clear as the picture showed!

Im gonna keep them anyway only a little piece is yellow its still a big difference from the original yellow signals

Anways Im debating on leaving the clear bulbs I already have or do i put the yellow bulbs to make it legal?? Any suggestions????

I feel as if cops wont notice the difference in color bulbs so i might as well have clear bulbs

did they send you the wrong ones? and yes put yellow bulbs IMO that will be for your own good as well as the other drivers will recognize your turning with the yellow flash.

Do an eBay search for 3157 chrome bulb and 194 chrome bulb. That's what you want - not the clear that's in there now, not an amber bulb.

Get stealth bulbs

I got the same ones. (except I got them from http://www.newedgeperformance.com and they have the updated pic with the amber insert). I could be wrong but I think APC got sued for making illegal lights or something so they immediately stopped selling all clears about a year ago and put in the amber inserts. Jegs should really update their site.

You can still get completely clear ones at: http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/05Lighting.htm but I think all clear ones are for show only and are considered illegal on the street since you need the front amber reflector. Personally I like the APC ones with the amber inserts to stay legal.

But I'd highly recommend stealth bulbs: http://www.stealthauto.com
Basically they're chrome when off and amber when on.

Here's a few pics that show the difference between amber bulbs and stealth bulbs.
pic 1: clear lens with amber bulb (egg yolk effect.. and yes the lights are off in this pic)
pic 2: clear lens with stealth bulb
pic 3: close up of stealth bulb off (basically looks like chrome)
pic 4: close up of stealth bulb on

Yup, I was thinking the same thing when I found out how much stealth bulbs were, but I'm really happy that I got them. I really like the look. Very worth it.

APC will eventually turn yellow anyways. I would send them back for a refund.

Has anyone bought the Euro style clear corners off ebay? They are totally clear and only cost about $40.00.

I also got the corners you did from Jegs. I don't like the amber inserts and after about 2 months I took them off the car. (They are in a box in my garage)

You won't be happy. Get the completely clear ones off eBay. I'd return the Jegs ones ASAP if I were you.

If you don't want to go the Stealth bulb route (overpriced IMHO) you can get Silverstar turn signal bulbs at any Kragen. They are kind of bluish but don't look bad!

Also, while you are at Kragen get LED 194 marker lamps - they are completely clear but light up a bright amber at night, with the bonus that LED lights never burn out. They are cheep as well!

I think im going to keep the smaller factory 194 wgite bulbs because the yellow will be next to it and spend the money on the bigger 3157 stealth chrome bulb.

Is ebay reliable for buying bulbs? never bought an item like that on ebay anyone have any experience?

I haven't had any yellowing. I bought mine in ebay when they just came out, pretty cheap too. I kept the stock bulbs, it's a pale white, not yellow either...

I'm not trying to talk you into it, but I thought the same thing. What I noticed though is that the chrome stealthbulb is darker than normal bulbs (the element has to "power" through the chrome coating) so the stock outside lights will look really bright compared IMO. Not a biggie unless you're really **** like me.

So are the completely clear ones illegal on the street in all states?

The completely clear ones are not DOT approved, therefore illegal.

However, I can't imagine a cop actually giving anyone a ticket for that, especially if you have orange bulbs. I wouldn't lose any sleep over the legality of the clear corner lamps.

Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for using clear lights?

I've run clear running lights and chrome bulb turn signals for a couple of years on my last car and never had a cop bat an eye at me even though you couldn't see any orange anywhere on the car.
