Clear corner question

I purchased some clear front corners from Ebay for 30 smackers. $30 + Ebay = I am skeptical. Should I silicone the crap out of them if it is possible? I know that the worse case scenario is that I would be out 30 bucks. But I'm an accounting major. And 30 bucks is 30 bucks. I'm not worried about rain here in Lost Vegas, but I wash my car twice a week and don't want to worry about water getting in there and causing condensation, or worse, a short or malfunction of some sort.

From what I have seen here on TMS, Clear corners + Performance White = the awesomeness.

I bought a $30 set from ebay and haven't had any problems yet. I do wash the car a lot, but it doesn't see rain much. It lives in the garage most of the time. I've had them 2 years and they are still crystal clear.

I still have an entire tube left from my GT500 spoiler install. Cheap insurance I guess.

I bought a cheap set off of ebay too. No probs and I drive in rain and wash more car at least once a month. If it's very hot outside, and then it rains, I do get fog on them, but it never last more then that day.

silicone em! I bought a pair with the black housing and clear lens; the passenger side fogged up intermittently at first an usually cleared up within a few hours but one year later its much worse and condensation has been trapped inside for almost a week now

FWIW I got a $30 set off Flea-Bay and have had no issues. My car hardly sees any rain while its moving but sits outside all of the time and gets washed quite frequently. Not too bad for $30...

Got my set off eBay for roughly $30 bucks as well....from "zizalighting" i believe the seller is. No issues whatsoever, however they have only been on for 2 weeks so too early to tell.

I'm an accountant as well and you have to look at it this way....for most companies, $30 is just a minor rounding error

Do NOT buy any clear lights on ebay from "motorblvd"!!! I bought a set from them this past summer. They had multiple vent holes in the back, and filled with water the first time I drove in the rain. When I contacted them about a refund, they said they were out of warranty. After I explained that the design was defective, they said they would send me another set if I paid to send them back AND paid them another $14.99 for shipping! I didn't send those a-holes another dime!

If you're skeptical of the $30 ones, I was looking to get these off of e-bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2005-...item4a97163811

Does anyone know of any problems with these?

I bought two sets from them, one set before my accident and one set after, and never had any problems with them. I did add extra sealer around the seams as a precaution as I did on the $100 set of clear corners I had on my car before the smoked ones above.

Lenses came in today. In a spork box.... They look like nice solid pieces. I'm going to walmart to pick up some RTV Sealant tomorrow as my tube's tip is too big I hope to get these put in on Monday though.

Sealed them up tonight and will let them sit overnight. I'll get them on tomorrow after a good wash.

I don't mean to jack the thread but I installed an HID kit and now my Passenger headlight has condensation in it... Luckily I had a friend who had a spare headlight so I am just going to replace it... I have never used silicone b4 so What do I need to do??? Once I install this new headlight I DEFINITELY want some kind of protection or insurance???

Add a bead of silicone where the housing and lense meet. American Muscle has a decent write up and video as well.

Not a problem bro.

The bulbs go in via a socket. So there won't be any issues replacing a bulb. I already replaced one with my clear corners.

I know I just replaced my headlights w/ a set of HID's but I am wondering if I put the silicone (as a seal i guess) around the socket after I put the bulb in will it be difficult to pull the bulb out if I have to replace it....
