hey everybody, I,m pretty hyped about getting my new stang, thinkin mods, etc. I show my wife a pic of cdc spoiler and she says"don't get that, you'll look like a punk". I told her she didn't know what she was talking about. She walks out of the room..that was 2 days ago.now I don't like to start fights but if I argue this ,there's gonna be tension..plus a dry spell,if you know what i mean..anyway i need some suggestions/methods of persuasion/whatever..i really want this spoiler :bang: thanks

Now see what happens when you talk to your wife?

If you would have just bought the spoiler and put it on, she may not have even noticed.

She's right, and that's the whole point, isn't it?

When I started thinking about mods, I knew the wife was going to be on the side of good sense and economy. That meant I needed to preemptively strike, and make my mods look sensible and economically sound. I started by telling her I wanted stripes on my car. Personally, I think stripes are great, but not on my car. She hates em...really hates...great place to start. Then I started looking at lowering kits and the loudest exhausts I could find sound clips to demo. Toss in some browsing of racing seats, 5pt harnesses, rollbars and humongous wheels, and she was darn near apoplectic!

I 'conceeded' on the stripes and racing stuff, but brought up some of the milder modifications I actually want, and she is totally satisfied that her good sense has prevailed. Yeah, some of my mods may make me look like a punk, but that's what I want, and the wife is happy that they aren't stripes.

Tell her you want to put a neon kit on it, fender flares, hood scoops and a Turbonator in the tailpipe. That chin spoiler will end up looking mighty fine to her!

I'm with RMac, just buy it and put it on before she notices. Mine took me less than 25 mins to install. Luckily I don't have to worry about that.

Yeah, I really do not think that a chin spoiler makes your car look punkish or ricey or anything like that. It just adds a little something to your car that gives it a little personal touch that isn't overbearing (as body kit or something like that would most certainly be).

Oh and Perry, that is one great looking car man!!!

I think you should look like this when she comes home from work one day. She'll be begging you to put the spoiler on and get back to your old self.

My wife (to be) told me we can't get a mustang unless it has tinted windows, a good stereo, alarm, exhaust and stripes. She let me pick the wheels and I'm going with 64e's -- mystery wheel.

I haven't mentioned the performance mods yet to come, maybe I'll just tell her I'm running premium Do you think she'll notice the supercharger whirring? I'm afraid she's gonna think it needs to go in for service

Look at the new Steeda front splitters. They are very similar to the one on the GT500 concept.

Well I know how to solve this problem. Man, how long have you guys been married. You know the key to all is money. Bribe her. Give her the card for a day. Barter, get her something while getting yours. Good luck
