Cheap, Easy, and Good Looking!

Kinda like the perfect date:
Cheap, Easy, and Good Looking
Actually, I'm talking about brake ducts, something I've been working on. I used 3" speaker port tubes http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=260-404 as brake ducts on my new GT/CS bumper cover. This mod will also work on the stock GT bumper cover. Compare these to the wimpy ducts on the GT500KR. I cut the holes with a 3 1/8" hole saw and cleaned them up with a Dremel. They've been placed as far outboard as possible to provide maximum clearance to my Gord's heat exchanger. Ordered a pair of Quantum's duct plates http://www.quantummotorsports.com/05-07MustangKits.htm and will pick up some duct hose locally. I'll post pics of the finished product when it comes back from the painter.

That's a GT500KR, I posted the picture to show the smaller brake ducts on it.

I think that's an awesome idea, and looks good, too! So this should actually assist in the functional cooling of the front brakes? At least in theory it would seem so, right?

Yes, just need to connect 3 inch hose from the bumper ducts to plates bolted behind the rotors. Quantum sells the plates for $75.

I can't say for sure, you'll have to see if there's enough clearance for a 3 1/8" inch hole next to each side of the the GT500 heat exchanger. I do know the brake ducts that Shelby sells for the GT500 are only 2.5" and their hose and duct plate kit comes with PLASTIC duct plates!

Hmm yeah Im gonna have to look at that. And I dont like the plastic idea ethier. I wonder if I could run some hoses to the brakes without using one of their kits? Its not a time critical thing so ill have a while to look at how these are setup.

At the price of the speaker cores I doubt that they have any UV inhibitors in them so it might behoove anyone considering this mod to pick up several sets of them or hit them with some plastic formulated paint.

Whoa! Exactly what I've been looking for! Can I get these locally at, say Best Buy or a car stereo center? They're perfect! Thanks!
