Cervinis Shelby Tail Light Conversion

Okay,

On the Cervinis site, they're showing as preorder instead of "group buy", so does anyone know how long b4 you can just buy em? Or is there another company that makes the kit?

Bwahahaha.... that's still on their site???

There was a thread here at TMS where they were accepting preorders; That thread had to be at least a year ago, and nothing ever came of it. All that they could do was present photoshopped images and pretty much ignored most people in the thread with any sort of criticism or questions of concern.

It's a nice idea, but after seeing their response to that thread, there's no way in heck I'd buy it without seeing actual photos of the production piece. From what I could tell, it appeared to be pretty poor execution of a great idea.

I just wish someone had this kit out. I've seen some really sick mods using actual 67 lighting, but I don't have that kind of dinero to fabricate it.

Here buddy, I went and found the thread. Not quite a year ago, but you get the idea:

The concept if everyone remembers it in early 2005 had a similar tail light design. It is really to bad Ford didn't follow through. Would have been a nice touch. These looked like LEDs and just didn't do it for me......

Cervini's response on the old thread really disappointed me...

Coulda been a neat idea, but I think the kit they are contemplating for the new model would have too many seams to hide and look right...the cutoff corners on the 10+ would need a couple inch extension, just cant quite picture how that could be hidden- although Fang's 'mystery7' hood/headlight extensions flowed pretty well in pics Ive seen.

too bad Fang didnt survive- I think they had a lot of good ideas, kinda a 'eye for mustangs' like SHR's folks... the first Fang hood I saw was on a guy named Shawn's Mustang at the mid Ohio swap meet, man I loved that car... 69 spear on the hood, with the shaker, ducktail rear spoiler, sweet car...
I ended up with their hood, but it was after they folded- Aeroform still makes/sells them, and its a nice piece of 'glass...although now I kinda wish I coulda got the Foose aluminum prepainted ones off ebay for 450 delivered- thats a steal. A shaker kit would still be required, but I like the lighter hood- my glass hood feels like lead compared to the stocker.

sorry for the hijack- back to Cervini's kit, I'll still be very curious to see one for real, but kinda lost interest long ago when they didnt even respond to folks questions in the thread they started...
Tim

I do remember that somebody did put in an order and they told him 6 to 8 weeks but I'm pretty sure at this point that fell through .

Tim,

We're a CDC dealer but I can't be in the "middle" of the deal for the foose hoods they have - and they still have some in the 3-400 price range, so you might want to give Sergio a call over there if you're serious about one. Tell him I sent you

Thanks Marcello- but I'm 'car poor' right now, need to give some priority to some other stuff first. next thing for the cars gonna be 18x9 DDs up front too- I cheeped out last year and put the matching diameter tires on the front 17" OE wheels, the taller sidewall compared to the rear looks goofy- I gotta get them off of there.
those Foose hoods are the deal of a lifetime- years down the road I bet theyre gonna be like those 65 galaxie glass headlight covers...sold for 20 bucks back in the day, cant find for under 1500 today...if I had the extra cash I would stuff my rafters full of those hoods Only hope is whoever is making them will continue to do so- its possible...

I reserved and order for the Tail light kit

Funny that this was brought up....

At the very beginning of July 2010 I had put my name down on a list for the Cervini's tail light conversion kit. At the time I thought it was sick but was also displeased with the fact that it did not have actual pictures of the kit on a mustang.

You would think they would just slap it on one of the mustangs they have and shoot some pic's and since they didnt that says something to me...

I waited to hear back from them to order the tail light kit but then I realized with the 5.0 coming out and the fact I wanted wheels first i decided to have the go instead of the show..

Still to this day I haven't heard from them and never expected too and I was the first person to put my name down on the pre order list.

IMO at this point I wouldn't bother with them. I would only buy them if I had the Eleanor kit because to me thats when they would look good... like other ppl are saying don even hold your breathe
