Which ducktail spoiler should I go with? From the pictures I've seen it looks like the CDC is better quality, but pictures can be misleading. Also if I install sequential tail lights, would removal of the third brake light with the CDC be a problem?

The CDC does not have the third brake lite. I went with it, check my signature for the link to my car.

I preferred it over others because it did not have a third brake light.

I think I am going with the CDC as well. I dont want the 3rd brake light on the trunk...I dont know if I will put the one in the car either. My back window will be 5% tint so you wont really see it anyway.

How do you hook up that 3rd brake light anyway?

actually it comes with good instructions and looks like it was original eqiptment.
Also...I think if you were to be rear ended and it was noticed that you no longer have a 3rd brakelight, I would think the blame might be shifted to you...that is why I did it!!!

Agreed. Don't leave it off entirely. Just asking for trouble in the event of a collision. "This operator willfully and recklessly disabled federally mandated safety equipment" is not something you want to hand the other driver's lawyer in the event of a court case :notnice:

The only negative with the CDC, compared to the SSE, other than not having an integrated thrid brake light is that it doesn't "blend" as well where it meets the rear bumper.
Other than that the differences are based more on taste and personal preference. CDC is shorter and made of fiberglass, I think.

I really liked the CDC but after seeing one on it seemed to small. The street scene seems more like the old style so I went with that even though I hate that third brake light.

Good point about the rear ended part...didnt think about that. Maybe I will put it up there just in case.

Can someone who has the CDC ducktail and/or the 3rd brake light in the car post some close up pics of how these things sit when mounted. I always see them from a distance and it looks good but I want to see how the sits oon the car.

Hey 06Legend, I'm in the same boat as you. I keep going back and forth with my decision. I am really liking the retro look of the CDC, without the 3rd brake light, but I like the SSE version since it's a little taller, and is a bit more flush mounted to the bumber, as others have said. I think what I am going to do, is look into seeing if the guy who is going to do my stripes, will fill in the 3rd brake light opening of the SSE spoiler, before he paints it. If he can do it, then I have my choice made. This way, I get the CDC look without the brake light, but with the higher rear spoiler of the SSE. I pretty sure it won't cost too much to fill it in. Just a thought.

Exactly my thoughts when I was making my decision, no one would warrantee the work and they called all the specialty body supply people and nobody could guarantee their products would hold up for this application...so I went with the CDC

I know it goes in the car...I was wondering how it fits up to the back glass. I plan to tint the back window...didnt know if I should cut the tint around the light or just have the light shine through the tint.

I really like the CDC...I think it matches the lines of the bumper and trunk better.

If I get a chance I'll snap some pics of the street scene spioler for everyone to see. The problem that I saw with the CDC is it is too small. It almost looks like it is tacked on from a side view. It also bulges out from the quarters. The street scence is taller and actually gives it the old school muscle car look from all angles. It actually almost makes it look like the car has hips like the 60s models. It is about the same hieght as the old shelby spoilers of the 60s. Its just too bad about that darn 3rd brake light with the street scene

Do NOT cut the tint, install tint first...I saw one that was cut and it looked like @@#$

It fits flush with the top and goes down the window a little. When looking out the rearview mirror you won't even notice that it is there. I would agree that the SS spoiler is alittle taller and might even blend in alittle better on the sides but I am totally happy with mine and don't forget that pony emblem if you choose it.

Thats what I was wondering...my last car they cut around the light and I wasnt so fond of it. But that light was a little bigger and at the bottom. I will probably just not cut it this time. Only thing is the back glass will be 5% so there wont be much light going through I guess

I dont think I am going with the pony either...

After a big debate I finally went with the Street Scene. I really like the look of the CDC where it gets rid of the 3rd brake light, however, I find the CDC spoiler to be too short and way to thick where it meets up with the bumper. Therefore I ordered the SS ducktail because it is taller and blends better with the body of the car (ie: bumper). I just wish it also covered the 3rd brake light.
