I just love the CDC Shaker Scoop and the '69 style hood that they're going to make to go with it. (Soon, I hope.) It seems to me, however, that the scoop only looks "right" when done a certain way. Being black, it needs a black hood, or a hood with a black center stripe to settle it on the hood; otherwise it just seems to float out there. I've seen body-colored (white) shaker, but didn't like it. The problem is, I was kinda hoping for a Sonic Blue GT with white rocker stripes. I can't imagine a way to work a shaker into that combo. Does anyone agree that the only way to do a shaker is in the original '69 style with black hood, or am I being unimaginative? I would appreciate any ideas on styles using the CDC scoop and hood.

I've been working with CDC on a few things. Can I pass along any ideas for you?

My 2 cents.
shaker = carb
05 is FI.
Maybe a functional ram air/CAI setup.

Brad,
Ya, that's the idea I had. The first two pics support (IMO) that the shaker really needs a black area on the hood to look "grounded" instead of tacked-on. The second pictures, however, make me rethink the idea that Sonic won't go with black. That third pic, especially, with the full black hood and the gold Mach stripe. Wow. A friend of mine had an original just like that one. Have to do without the white rocker stripe, but maybe black is ok with Sonic?
Farmerjohn, good point. It's tough to pay homage to the classic 'stangs without copying them or making a mockery with something inappropriate and silly. Like getting original reflective gold Mach 1 stripes for the '05. It might look neat, but it would never actually be a Mach 1. Didn't Ford use the shaker on the '03-'-4 Mach 1's though? And don't you imagine that they may use one on a future Mach? Thanks for the input.

Umm, the '03-'04 Mach I has a functional shaker induction system. I think the shaker would look great on the Steeda paint jobs. Imagine this car with the shaker.

Yeah, I am planning on doing the same treatment only in Sonic Blue. How much did it cost you to get the hood and mirrors painted?

Hood, mirrors, winglets. and front splitter paint and install ran 580.00 out the door.....Seemed like a lot until I realized how much work it would be watching them do some of it today.....I'll be sure and post for ya after I get it back....next step will be new rims unless CDC has the shaker out real soon..hood and mirrors will probably run ya 300-350....the hood was the majority of the labor as they showed 4 hrs. labor for just that one piece....mirrors have to be sanded prior to paint as they are not smooth so they are no cup of tea either...look forward to seeing yours when it's through holderca1.....take care!!!
