Am I missing something here? It looks like the shaker air is unfiltered since it enters the top of the filter box and goes directly to the manifold. Is there another filter somewhere?

Look at the picture again. There is a hose at the back of the shake that goes to the factory air box. The fresh air from the shaker goes from this hose into the air box, through the air filter and then into the manifold.

This is similar to the way it is done on the '03 and '04 Mach 1s.

You can use the stock hood, so how ever much it costs to cut a hole in it. Not sure about CDC's hood though. They haven't released any info.

Love the integral manifold cover, but that is an awfully circuitous route for the actual induction tubing. With that nice, centrally located intake inlet, you'd think they could make it more direct.

What kind of gains in power are you gonna get with that?? Doesn't seem like a benefit with the air going all around. Seems like a cold air induction kit is less turbulent.

I'm ignorant here.

That's actually how it's done on the Ford built Mach 1s.

I would say a modest gain of about 10-15 hp, but until they put it on the dyno, we won't know for sure. That includes a better filter, something like a K&N.

It's not filtered yet, see the pic for what the filter will look similar to inside the airbox.
