CDC Sequential Harness Gone Bad?

I have the CDC sequential signals installed in my '05 GT, and have had them in for about 6 months. Last night I turned my signal on in the car and noticed the arrow blinking extra fast...so I though, no biggie, I just need to replace a bulb. I checked the back and it was not just a matter of one of them not working, none of them would come on when I turned on a my right signal or hazards. When hitting the brake, the right two would come on, but not the innermost bulb. I bought replacement bulbs but it did not fix the problem.

Its the weekend so CDC is not open for me to call them today, but does anyone have any experience with this happening or know what might be the problem? I'm going crazy knowing somethings wrong with my baby, and I don't think this is something I can have the dealer address due to voided warranty reasons.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I dont know if it is fact the sequential module, but they come with a lifetime guarentee, so everything should be fine, just contact them.

My only other concern is that I don't know how easy it would be just to replace the old harness with a new one because I remember on the directions it said that when you plug their wire into that third hole on that innermost bulb it is permanent and cannot be removed...which concerns me because I don't know if they'll supply me with a replacement bulb socket from Ford, and if I'll be able to pull out the wires that go into that socked from the other sockets and put them in a new one or not.

and you just answered why a lot of us changed the harness rather than going with a splice kit. Anyway, definately sounds like a problem with the kit. Another member on this site had the same problem recently as well. Sounds like you have to remove their kit for the time being until they get you a replacement.

I had a similar issue they know about it and already have a fix, contact them and they will send you a new harness, no hassles it was real easy, I was surprised, the new harness is an updated version, you need to now cut your old one and splice the one wire on each that goes into the bulb but that is a cake walk and took less then 2 mintues to do. good luck

Ok great...glad this isn't some freak thing... I'll wait until I hear back from them and get the new harness and instructions before doing anything...I'll just have to do without a right turn signal for a while. Were the instructions that they gave you very detailed? I hope so, I'm not all that mechanically inclined.

Adrenalin...this actually is a harness kit and not a splice kit, but if you read on the instructions that CDC posts on their site and sends with their product, it mentions that when you plug in their wire to the socket, it is permanent.

Also, did they sent just one to fix the malfunctioning one or 2, so that I can do the other side and won't have that one go bad?

they sent both and gave me simple, easy to follow instructions over the phone, just cut that wire that you mentioned cant be removed (do so from the inside of the trunk so you dont have to remove the lights themselves like on the orriginal install), splice these wires to the new harness, do both and they want both old ones back, I have had no troubles since

I just went through this myself. Same problem with the sequential harness going bad. I contacted CDC, they send me an updated harness, removed the old harnesses, spliced the black wire into the new harness, and sent the old harnesses back. They were very good about handling this problem.

I had the same issue with my right side harness, I ended up grabbing the wire and pulling really hard and got the prong out of the harness. Then when I reinstalled the new pieces they still clicked in, but it may not be the same for everybody. The turnaround time was very good. CDC does stand behind their products.

Sounds like CDC is having a problem with their sequential kits, I wonder how many more will chime in.

I'm running their kit on my GT, no problems, but I know they have excellant customer service.

I'd call their tech support folks, I'm sure they'll fix you up.

I talked to their customer service today and they said they'd swap them out for me but I had to remove mine and once they recieved them they'd send replacements. That's great and all but that leaves me without any turn signals at all on my car until I get theirs back..... not so sure about that...maybe I can call back and see if they'd send the new ones first so I'm not left without any at all.

Wow that's really terrible customer service! How are you supposed to drive your car? I'd shop elsewhere..........No more CDC for me

Actually you can plug your factory harness back in and still have your stock lighting. Not that big of a deal.

I had one go bad and recieved another set within a couple days. Pretty good support if you ask me.

Most new products have a flaw in some way or another. Unfortunately we had a first run of the sequentials that had an issue. They are replacing them. Look at it this way…We just made it easier for other mustang owners in the future because they won’t have to deal with the problems we did
