Well I saw the pic (attached) that Brad originally posted on the 28th of October and my heart stopped. Exactly what I'd been hoping CDC would make for us, something to compliment the excellent chin spoiler they've already done.

Back in the spring I swapped out my painted rockers for V6 black ones to compliment the lines of the front chin spoiler (also black) and give the car a leaner look. The only thing missing was a rear bumper trim piece that would even out the look - front to back.

Right after that, the first pics of the new GT500 popped up and guess what....it's gonna have black trim on the lower front bumper (chin spoiler), side rockers and the back end (rear diffuser). Ford designers said that the lower black panels make the car look leaner, longer & lower. Exactly my thoughts when I did mine.

So I called CDC and asked when their GT prototype would go into production (knowing that the car was at SEMA this week). They said (very sadly) that the car in the photo was a V6 with provisions for a dual outlet exhaust to mimick our GT's. DARN!!! But, CDC being the great people that they are, stated that they'd not thought of doing one for the GT - until my call. They also said they'd like some other opinions - which is where this excellent group of people come in.

Take a look at the photo and if you like what you see, please take a second to vote. It's a fabulous looking piece that'll make the back end look less "chunky" while protecting our rear quarters from tire kick-up.

Thanks - Mark

I really would like them to do this. The look is amazing, plus they don't get beat up as much as the painted panels.

I voted YES

One caveat - can they make the opening large enough for people with other thans tock axlebacks???

(ie - I am worried about my Flowmaster tips fitting in there)

Excellent point Burke, the openings are pretty tight to the stock tips. While they're at it, they might even consider a rear diffuser style for the thing 'cause the one on the GT500 looks pretty cool. But I'm pretty sure CDC would like to see a few more votes if they're going to consider doing anything. Thanks for yours by the way!

Come on everyone.........VOTE

Thanks to Mark (original Sin) and AFBlue I also have the V6 rockers and I would love to see this be made for the GT. When I first put them on I considered painting that lower trim, but decided that was too permanent.
I have to disagree about the rear diffuser though. If it had that I wouldn't buy it. Just never liked any of those.
If you like the diffuser, you can always pick up the GT500 version once it comes out.

(hey, Mark, you missed a question up there... Post #4)

Ah Jason, you're the best!! Just thought I'd throw the diffuser option in but I'd prefer the lower trim to look just like it does on the CDC prototype.

And Darren....the rear panel isn't mine, that's a CDC car. My blackout is just vinyl.

Anyways....thanks again Jason. I figured you'd chime in on this one. Hopefully a few more people will too.

Keep those votes coming everyone

that's the Corsa exhaust system, with 4" tips, on that car. Other exhausts should fit just as well.

why not just paint the lower section of your bumper black instead of adding a piece to it?

John, John, John.......those refinery fumes (or whatever it is they make in Sarnia) must be getting to you. Paint the Mustang??? Good Lord no, I couldn't!!

I've got this fixation to be able to bring the car back to bone stock if I ever need to someday. Everything on it is removeable so I'm hoping to keep it that way. And anyways, that CDC piece is gorgeous, adds a nice moulded touch to the bottom and judging by the quality of CDC's urethane parts, it'd fit perfect (if they make of course).

Hope everything's well by the way. Almost time to put the baby away I guess. It's gonna make me cry but oh well, April's just around the corner!

Talk to ya soon - Mark

Yeah, I like it too, and I would need to see mroe pictures before I decided whether to paint mine or use their piece.

I do have the CDC chin spoiler, and I'm thinking of painting the rockers black...

Hello NEWMAN! Don't paint the rockers, replace them with the ones from the V6. Almost the same price if you have them painted properly (about $100 US apiece) and you get to keep your stockers....just in case.

More pics depends on CDC wanting to produce the thing after they get back from SEMA.....and after reading more postive feedback (I hope) from us GT owners.

And you can save even more money if you can find a used set from someone who installed GT rockers on their V6.

EDIT: Just saw a set on eBay.

I vote yes, I am looking at the street scenes model, but am also concerned about the aftermarket exhaust fitting in the cut outs
