That is pretty nice, but I still want their rear chin spoiler first. They just told me 8-12 weeks, can't wait!

Thanks, but like others have said. Availability is still TBD. I sent them an email though, now that SEMA is over, maybe they will have a ETA on the part and a price.

I keep hearing "next week", well I think I've waited out the desire to get the glass roof. Now it's time to save up for the stripes. If my installer gets the glass roof in soon I will take some pixs....

how about a carbon fiber version ala M6 for you hardcore performance freaks out there? (don't forget to paint it, unless you want rice!)

Wow, they still haven't released a price on that yet? We have been talking about it for over a year now.

<checks prior emails>

Well, ETA was end of October '05 as of Aug. 16th, 2005.

The estimated price was no more than $2,400.

This is all per Kim Rieck at CDC.

She said they are working on having a certified installer in all areas (i'm guessing two or three in each of the regions (southeast, west, northeast, south, plains, etc.), this may be what is taking so long. Plus, i'm not sure on the safety standards they have to pass or anything.

From what I understand, they just take the sheet metal off the top of the car, and then replace it with the glass roof. They say it is actually stiffer than original???

I doubt they'll have all that many available. The new Saleen SC is using it in their 06 model, so you know they'll be taking a big chunk of the production.
I liked the concept at first, but with the amount of rain and heat here in FL, I don't know if I want to come in a car that's boiling hot every day after work, or all of the sudden get water leaks due to the torrential rains

they sent someone out to do my car (pre-production)......they cut out the top skin of the car...cut a hole in the lower skin, replaced the headliner and urathaned the roof to the car (kinda like a windshield).
I took some pics of it while it was getting installed, i just have to find them.

Here is the email I got from them today, pretty much what we have heard before.

At this time we are still working on the Glassback. It looks like it will cost no more than 2500.00. I will keep your information on file and update you as we go along. Any questions please let me know.

Thank you

I've been waiting on the information on this since SEMA 2004, many people on the site have emailed CDC and had reports of coming soon, pricing coming soon, not taking orders but soon...

Soon must equal never.

Hey, did you find the pics?

How do you like the top after living with it for a couple months?

I'm starting to wonder if CDC has produced more than just the one roof? I've not seen pix on any real (non-show, or saleen) car. Does this roof really exsist?

I forgot all about this thread. I have them at work. I'll post them when I go back in tomorrow.

I like it. I havent driven the car all that much, but I did have it in an unexpected rain storm with no problems,Drove it under hot sun with no problems and had the car over 120mph without type of noise or air leak.
