I think the first step to making chrome mods look "in-place" on the car is replacing pieces that were chrome in the "60s with chrome ones.....Like door handels....window trim if possible...tou know...any thoughts?

I agree about trying to replicate items that were found on the original mustangs, but these chrome handles don't look very good in my opinion. The design of the door handles on our mustangs is quite chunky, therefore making a chrome version quite distracting and too big and out of place on the body lines of the car. They don't contrast very well or add a retro touch. If you like them then that's all that matters though! Enjoy your car! I would like to see what chrome window trim looked like however. That would be retro definitely!

If you're gonna chrome one thing, you should chrome everything. Windows, mirrors, bumpers, lights, etc... I don't think these cars look right if you add "touches" of chrome to them.

Not something I would install, but they look OK... But don't spend $80.00.... I just did a quick search on eBay and found the same thing for $55.00... Look around...

I would think if you had the pony grille, at least chrome spinners on the wheels, chrome taillight surrounds and some sort of chrome mirror cap it would look pretty good, especially on the bold colors(s/v blue, torch/redfire, s yellow, white) A lot of modern cars have chrome handles only, its not that bling bling at all.

I've always liked what this guy did with his pony. I think the chrome handles look good here - with the chrome wheels. I think it also depends on the color of the car. Mine is white so I think that background would wash the chrome out to a greater degree than a darker color car.

I'm surprised at how good they look on the yellow car. Pete, any more pics a little farther away?

IMO, adding more chrome just to add it looks tacky. The mineral grey car is a little overboard. Especially the window treatment and the wheel well lip. :notnice:

Saw them on eBay again today... $15.00 + $12.00s/h = $27.00...
Looks like a good price if you like them....

Thanks, Pete. It breaks up the HUGE space the side of the new Mustang GT has.
I like 'em.
