This is the first time I've modded a car. Everyone on TMS was a lot of help and inspiration. I was hoping for a nice sunny day to take pictures, but got a cloudy one. I'm not waiting for the sun to post pics, however. Whatcha think?

Oh darn, now I might have to get that hood! Looks great on the sonic blue. I really like it with the front and rear spoilers, too.

Looks Fantastic !!!! I love the looks of that hood and purchased one awhile back. Even though I didn't want to, I had to put hood pins on a couple of weeks ago. On windy days, above 70-80 MPH, I became nervous about it staying locked down with just the factory latch.

Your car looks really good! The classic chin spoiler painted fits in really nicely too, starting to like it more than the flat black ones. Nice job, but also not too sure about cobra emblems...but it's your car, enjoy it.

Hood looks great!!
Bet you could tell I would like it.
Good to see some other colors getting this hood.
I was about to think that only the black GT's other than mine had it.
PS I have been asked if mine was a Cobra a few times so I think the Cobra Emblems are okay. That's not something I would do, but if it works for you, cool.

There's nothing wrong with the Cobra emblems if that's what you want. Besides, you are going for a rendition. Why can you put Shelby stripes but not Shelby lettering or Cobra emblems.
Other people are going for the Mach look. So do what you do.
Looks great too. Make sure you get pins. My buddy 05 FSTBK had his hood unlatch as we were driving to Monterey!

Thanks for the comments. I took 3rd in 2000-present Street Machines today (only class I qualified for). Then again there were only 3 in the class. Wow. That sure is a lot of work trying to detail a car! My GT is a daily driver, and really couldn't compete with the others. I got more attention than the winners did, though. It is unbelievable how many people just assumed my car was a real Cobra, or even a real Shelby. I could hear their comments, but I made sure and corrected as many as were willing to stop and talk. I even parked next to a couple of real SVT products, and they thought my car was cool. My favorite reactions from show-goers were "Oh....my....God!", "Jesus H. Christ!", and a more subdued "That's my dream car." I have to admit that I loved the attention, but I met someone from an SVT club who actually races the cars, and he was interested in getting me involved in a bit of racing. Car shows are too much work, and I aint gonna win many trophies with a daily driver anyway, so I may check out his club. Here's a pic in the sunshine. Hope it doesn't blow up on me...

Very very nice!!! See I told you you would be happy with that hood.
I have to be one of the non-cobra badge people as well, but dang your car looks great. Excellent choice of mods so far (yeah I am biased
)
Did you install the SS ducktail yourself??
I plan on doing mine this weekend......

I still love that hood. IMO it looks a little better in a Darker color (black/SB) but I would like to see it in Lighter colors as well. Also, any performance increases with it?

Thanks guys. No I didn't install the SSE myself, but I probably could have. The bodyshop did it after they painted it. Alignment is not exactly perfect, but I'm the only one that will notice, as it's good enough for most people. I bought hood pins today, as the hood is really flexible. The bodyshop says that any adjusting will just put excessive pressure on the center of the hood, possibly cracking it, and they say it will still flex. I don't mind the look of the pins, but I am nervous about the install. Despite the hood requiring more mods (CAI, pins), it gets more attention than a naked supermodel.

Don;t worry man - I was hesitant about the pins at first too - if you need some advice, drop me a PM.
Also thanks to SC67stang theres a little trick for mimicking the stock insulation on the new hood that will eliminate almost all the resideual hood flex after the pins are in....... again, lemme know if you need help
