Bullitt Wheel Question

I have the factory 18" x 8" polished aluminum bullitt wheels. I would like to buy a pair of matching 18" x 10" wheels for the back. I know they make similar ones in chrome, anthracite, etc, but have not been able to find ones that match.
Has anyone a source for a matching wider wheel?

To date I have not found POLISHED 18" Bullitt wheels wider than the 8.5" Ford upgrades. I have been looking since January 1st, 2006. If I do however find polished ones I will PM you. You need a 9" minimum to run 285s and the widest you can get to fit the stockers is 255s. I would settle for 285s, but I see little point in putting 255s on the stockers for the price / traction increase.

Later,

Shaun

The whole point is to buy wider rears and keep the fronts. These won't match. I think we need to wait for Ford to widen the 18" bullitts they offer. I will most likely only put the wider rears on when needed and run the 235 stock ones most of the time. I like being able to rotate and buy BFGoodRich KDWSs cheap. It just seems that with minimal mods the tires are easily over-driven by the power.

I don't think 275's would be too big of a stretch on 8.5" wide wheels. Several cars come from the factory with 275's on 9" and many people put 285's on 9".

I think Shaun is correct, that I have 8.5" wide wheels and not 8" wide. The point is to go that extra 1.5" wide on the rear for better traction and take off. Presently the stock ones spin very easily.
I think you might even be able to get into a +300 size with 10" wides.

Then buy 2 more of the same wheel and have them widened. Or have two of your current ones widened if you don't mind being w/out your car for a while. http://www.weldcraftwheels.com/Wide.htm
