Brake Caliper Question For my New Stoptechs???

Hey guys, I just got my Saleen (StopTechs) Re-powder Coated and want to put the a new Saleen Sticker back on but I want to make sure it stays --> So I was thinking of putting it on the putting some clear over it...

Would this Work? If not, What is the best Option?

You may want to call Eric at StopTech and ask him. I have no clue what clear coat will stand up to the heat of a caliper.

I would call the manufacturer first to see if they recommend taking the caliper apart to powdercoat.

Dear Brembo doesn't, and they don't offer a rebuild kit, so I don't know if the Brembo Calipers I powdercoated will be usable at all!!! There goes $550 down the drain (plus the cost of powdercoating).

CALL AND MAKE SURE FIRST!!!

The 'SALEEN' is not a sticker, it's more like paint/etched on.

Wierd, I sent Stoptech an email about this a while back and they told me it's not a decal. Go figure.

Glad you got it resolved.

I'm suprised it's a decal too. I figured a decal would not handle the heat generated by the brakes.

Trust me I thought They were going to say something along those lines.... I mean if you feel over the caliper it feels completely smooth so I the more I think about it the more I am thinking this guy is Wrong...

I found the e-mail they sent me about it...

Bill-

The logo is silk screened with high temp paint and baked, it is not really possible to remove without damaging the black finish underneath. The only option I can think of would be to very carefully block sand the logo with as little contact as possible to the black and then try to polish it out.

I was afraid they wouldn't get the lettering right and that it would look like crap...
