Kevin, I'd be willing to use my Pony as a test mule for the STB and FRPP plenum cover, at a good discount!!

I called Ford Racing this week to ask if the M-20201-F V6 Strut Brace would fit over the GT engine cover. The rep I talked to confirmed that the M-20201-F is the brace used with the Bullitt package but said they hadn't tried installing it with the engine cover.

I was Looking At the V6 Brace and it Looks Identical to the Bullitt Brace. FRPP Probably did not want to Stop Selling the old GT Brace so they Did Not List the V6 brace as Fitting the GT. I have a Very Good Price on the BULLITT Brace BTW . Still No Verification if it will Clear the GT Engine Cover.

Talking Got it today!!

Hey everyone! I got the Bullitt Brace from Kevin today (in the mail), and installed it this evening. The weather wasn't as cold when I was doing the CAI. So to the ones that heard that you couldn't put it on a V6, look at the picture.

Cool Midwest Plenum cover with Bullitt Strut Brace Bar

Hey I don't know how high the cover fits over the engine. I can say there isn't much room between the strut brace bar and the top of the engine. Are there any special reference points you want me to measure from?

I hope this helps!

Brian

Thanks to Ford Motorsport or Ford Performance Parts "which ever they are" for all the incorrect information.

My apology for the confusion, If you think this was bad you should have been with me when I ordered the V6 bar from the FPP link at the dealers. That`s a whole other story. I hope I get the Bullitt bar.

Hello,

The First two Pics are The Correct Shots but they Get Fuzzy when you Blow up The Thumbs. Perhaps you Could Resize fo us? I doubt there is enough Clearance for a Cover on the V6 Though. I would guess the Cover Would Have to Be Notched To Clear.

Thanks for the PICS. While I do like the brace, I also like the plenum cover more. It doesn't look like enough clearance for the cover and brace!

I tried my own grand experiment today with the Ford OEM plenum cover. Here's what I found:

Clearance between the bottom of the brace and the top of the plenum cover is approximately 0.4-inches in front and 0.5-inches in back. This, of course, assumes that my el cheapo Harbor Freight digital caliper is accurate.

I am probably restating the obvious but... you installed the bullitt STB on a Mustang GT with the OEM Ford Plenum Cover and you have 0.4 in clearance between the bar and cover in front and 0.5 in clearance between the bar and cover in the rear?

Looks like the photos you linked are not working any more. Any chance you can email to me? I can host them for you.

Thanks!

Close! I installed an OEM Ford Plenum Cover on an 08 Mustang Bullitt and have 0.4-inches clearence between the cover and the Bullitt strut tower brace (in front) and 0.5-inches clearence between the cover and the STB (in back).

Did you Set the Cover on Top of the Two Rear Studs or Did you Remove the Rear Studs and Bolt Down? This Trick Will Provide a Bit of Extra Clearance. Also Can You Take a pic from This angle as Shown in Pic Below. It would Be Appreciated!

The cover was set on top of the two rear studs. I suppose I can remove it and try installing the cover under the studs. My question at this point would be is it really necessary? Assuming my measurement of 0.4 to 0.5-inches is accurate how much more clearance do I need to have between the plenum cover and the strut tower brace? 1 inch? more?

When I started up the car this morning I monitored the engine and there did not seem to be much (if any) vertical movement at idle.
