I love the Boyd Coddington SMOOTHIE II wheels, but when I search for them on the internet the only finish I find is polished and I was wondering if you can get them in chrome. Polished wheels are hard to keep up from my experience and don't look as good later on down the road. Has anyone had experience with these wheels? Did you think they were hard to keep looking good?

Thanks,
Cameron

i owned boyd's for the last 3 years and they have one of the best finishes on them from any company that makes billet wheels and you will have no problem bringing them back to life even if you dont clean them for months when i was out of work for a few months the last thing on my mind was washing the truck or cleaning the wheels so of course they got really really bad and with just a few hours of polishing they looked brand new again, i say go for it

I was going to get the smoothies but another guy at work bought them. Glad I didn't get them. I can't stand the seam between the 2 pieces.

While they are new and perfect, have them clear powdercoated. You will never have to polish or clean them again, other than to hose them off.

adrenalin, is the seam really noticeable. I don't see it in the pictures of the wheel, but I bet it is harder to see it on the computer. 69boss, if I got them clear powder coated wouldn’t that add some gloss to the wheels? So they would look even better.

about how much would it cost for rims to be clear powdercoated, and also is that only for polished wheels or is it done for chrome ones as well.

They were extremely noticeable. Completely turned me off from ordering them.
