Blue Stipes on white

I'm having blue stripes painted on my 2006 white mustang Gt, I was thinking about Kona blue or vista blue? But after looking at color charts im more confused then ever. They will be blue for sure but not sure what color blue, Whats your thoughts or suggestions?

can't go wrong with either I don't think. They'll both look natural on Performance White. I would lean towards Kona because of its deepness and its effects in the sun. Flip a coin. You'll be happy with either IMO. (owner of a white car with blue metallic stripes)

Depends if you want to - or don't want to - appear like a GT350.

I always thought "Guardsman Blue" was THE color blue used on the older shelbys. Back when I had my white GT I wanted blue stripes, and I searched and searched but could not identify a modern equivalent color or 3M or Avery decal color that exactly matched but some came close.

I recommend you look up the 3M and Avery selling vendors, order their sample catalog, then take it with you to a few shows until you see the exact color on a car there. Then match it up to that. If you're going for a painted-on stripe, your decal sample can serve as the color sample.

Just some ideas. I know, they all suck....

What about the classic Guardsman Blue? I think that's whats on the new GT350 for the guy who asked above.

Guardsman Blue

Of your two options that you mentioned, I'd probably go with Vista. I like Kona, but I'd be afraid it would be too dark as a stripe color on white. I think the Vista would show more of a contrast and make the blue stand out more.

I'm with these 2 old school guys - Guardsman Blue over the car stripes was the color on the old Shelby's and imo, that's the 'proper' color and would be a great addition to your car, but Kona or even generic metallic blue would look good too. Only old farts like me would be able to tell the difference. LOL

cdynaco, Thanks for the reference pics. I just decided a couple days ago i was going with "ford racing" logo in my rocker stripes, just as pictured in the samples. I Think it will look good

Double-EDad, Yea i like the old school look myself also but i have a friend that has a color pretty close to that on a white Mustang GT. I made the mistake of telling and showing pics of Exactly what i was doing and believe it or not,LOL, He bought a white mustang and blue stripes while i was putting my body kit on!, So i'm still gonna do mine but just darker now! I'm actually glad it worked out that way now cuz i really like the Kona
